AgentAjax: there is nothing simple about it anymore because its out of control. How are you going to protest agonist 5 million immigrants who don’t agree with you and another 15 million who don’t give a damn and expect for you voice to be heard?

Probably more like 5,000 who actually voice their opinion on the rest of us. Simple facts are that after WW2 (and a bit before) a lot of people migrated to Aust for "a better life" for their families.

A "Land of Opportunity." Many migrants have done very well here, a lot of hard work and they have made something for themselves and their families. Watch Landline a few times and you will appreciate the work they have done to be where they are now today.

But a lot are sponging off our system.frustrated And so have a lot of those who have been here for many generations.

Merriweather: One thing tho AA...when I walk to my building in the morning from the train station, I pass a group of men who have made this particular spot their morning meeting place... they are gathered, most of them having a smoko... and the numbers seem to be increasing...

Now this is well strange, because when the Italians, Greeks, and even Vietnamese came to live here, the men often had a woman besides them, which we perceived as normal..... but to see largish groups of men now, sorta reminds me of looking at the news clips from os.. men ready to protest, ready to fight, so I guess its just my own association.

so I guess it's just me, gathering from the responses, no-one else seems particularly worried..
Because the mind quickly adjusts and sees things as normal. I grew up in the most violent suburb of Sydney and yet I felt safe. Once I left and returned 2 to 3 years later I was a target. I could no longer roam the streets at night alone. Do you think people in war torn countries are miserable? They adjust, have parties, weddings, bring children into the world as it was as a normal place to live.

Probably Wash but sponging of the system is an Aussie thing to do and you cannot attribute it to one group.
