While China has been trying to stem the tide of population growth (1 child policy means negative growth), India has now come close to equaling China in the population stakes. And that is only those in India, not counting rest around the world that consider themselves to be Indian before anything else.

That’s alright wash, places such as Australia can handle couple of billion people or more providing the infrastructure is there.

Reading and hearing about it is one thing, but when they show the pictures that's when it really comes home to roost.. and that particular photo was just too much...
It's just unfortunete her being so young, that is something that will be in her memory for years to come, for us, reading about it, well, something will hit the newstands to replace it.. and life goes on...

I did manage to read through the site and a lot of it I have heard through other sources, a lot of them "in the know." Rumours are rumours, and some contain an element of truth. If even 1/2 is true (a bit less than I have heard), then I would consider that Keating was Keating was a 1/2 decent PM.
Kristia49: I saw a programme on 60mins years ago about this type of thing. It made me cringe. The programme was when you had the second child it was injected in the brain to kill it. Dreadful.

While couples live by the one child rule they have work and housing....
disobey that rule and it is taken away from you...
the other thing that comes from all that is...
there is no longer an extended family structure....brother, sister, aunt, uncle, cousin are words which no longer exist.
The single child is spoilt rotten creating a society of overindulged individuals that no longer learn the art of sharing.
