As I understand it... Julia and her cronies wanted to make a mark on something first... and hit on this carbon thingo... personally, I dont believe in global warming, I believe the earth does whatever it wants to do in its own good time... and I hate that she did not call a national referendum to let us vote and have our say.... before she decided to speak for the nation...

I cannot understand how anything she does can be a good thing. she's done naught by lie... and lie, so if you think i am believing anything she says... its a NO... JMO of course...

i am not liberated whether it is julia or whoever...as i understand it... one one small scale...carbon tax will be a detterent for coal mines ........rethink how they run their show....it will not be too benificial to us or our kids but this will have some sugnificiance in years to come...it is not an instant solve all but a start to the future.......u cant expect to have this lavish lifestyle we enjoy to not have an impact on emissions.......even the poor in this country are doing well

There was a time when the previous PM wanted to penalise the major polluters. Did not have the support of both seats of Parliament.

Mainly because some industries would never be able to comply in the short-term. But he did want to introduce penalties for them if they did not want to be better to be able to manage this.

Victoria is probably the worst to be able to comply becasue of 'brown coal' emissions which does supply the 'right' coal for electricity production.

We have now signed the Kyoto Protocal which says that we will legislate to conform to the Kyoto Protocol.

Sitting here at 8 degs, do I want my gas and electricity turned off because they are "big" polluters? YES, YES, it will save the world even though I will freeze to death.

What ever happened to the term majority rules?being that we are supposed to live in a democratic society.Well seeing that 62% of the people voted against it,this means our so called society is run by communists, they dont do what the people want.of the people for the people by the people,no longer exists. The sooner this lamebrain redhead gets off her perch the better,a government should never be in power with a hung parliament

The Europeans have been experimenting with carbon taxes for over ten years. Maybe that's what has led to their current financial problems?

The tax free threshold has jumped from $4000 to $18000
the bit that you get will be negated by the rise of electricity and gas prices to rise...

so dont go getting all excited... back to work for you and me... sigh

that would hav to be one of the strangest remarks about this carbon tax ive ever heard, you must be one of the few people that agree with miss gillard, unfortunately it is, about who is in power,as she is the figure head of her govt, and what she says dictates the view of her peers. As for the laptops and computers being a realm of the rich,i am one of the poorest middle class people youll ever meet, only surviving, because i have a alternative lifestyle in jindabyne where all of my electricity is disected from the power gods.i totally agree with mr twin, this womans govt alone brought down a good business i had in natural therapies. The less comunists in this country the better, and she is one ,so is her govt. This carbon tax is only adding to the woes of the poorer people. Our eletricity on an average monthly bill should only be between 3 and 10 dollars, its been proven, and channel nine had a doco on it recently.

THANKS FOR UR COMMENTS

BUT

I DOUBT THAT JULIA GILLARD ALONE BROUGHT DOWN UR BUSINESS...there are lots of factors relating to a business going broke...so easy to blaim goverments...

i could do that too but choose to keep my small business going due to all the factors, comunication...competition...quality of service....not spending more than earning..........the alternate of JULIA OR NO BRIGHTER......it is up to you and ur community to make ur enviorement a much better place.....after all u are the controler of ur spending and costings aren,t you?
