dunno

We have the 4th highest saving rate in the world because of our Superanuation funds, but still we see o/seas buying up the farms in this country.
Why can't we buy them using our Super funds?confused
The volitility of world markets have do be why our funds fall so savagely, maybe if they start investing a fraction of those $$$ in buying land and employing people to run the farms, they will have the capital gains in the land value and the income from the farmed produce.dunno

I'm glad the Govt. made it law as we wouldn't be the 4th highest savings nation if we weren't paying compulsory super.

We have every other country buying up square kilometre tracts of land dirt cheap when our own superanuation funds cand see the dirt below their own feat is a gold mine waiting to be developed instead choosing international shares and bonds.

And you found yourself here in our company. Well the things that obscure our judgements sometimes cloud our vision with what is before our very eyes.
I'm not affraid of international investment, I just wish some of our super funds were used to invest in our resource, land rich country, maybe that way they wouldn't have got slugged as hard as they did during the GFC?confused

Dags valid point I am happy foreign investment.Selling key infrastructure is hard to fathom. When you have evrything the world seeks as investment.I recently heard key economists recommending investing in agriculture, burma, north korea and russia.Quoting that north korea will jin with the south and that he reckons there will be good changes in Myanmar aka burma. Some more dribble from me.
