Whatever trips your trigger.

I also believe it's better to be single and a bit lonely than with the wrong person and miserable.

I've been single for just about 10 years since my late wife of 17-years died from cancer. Retired five years ago and traveling a bit now and involved health issues and with several volunteer effort. I think the non-committal lifestyle has maybe grown on me.

Life with a partner is lovely as long as it's a happy relationship. Being without a partner doesn't mean one has to be lonely, so life without a partner, until one comes along, can be very fulfilling. :) I think it depends on how happy one is as a person.

If you like being lonely! Unless you're some religious zealot on a quest for spiritual attainment sans a significant other then your life is not quite complete without a spouse/partner/mate/significant other/lover. It's part of the inherent life experience that we find another that completes us. Otherwise you'll always be empty and envious as you watch the happy couples living their life fulfilled while you can only be envious.

Sorry TG, can't agree with you that my life isn't complete. I've been divorced 42 years. I've had lovers, boyfriends and lived with one for six years and once it was a match. But like all good things.....it eventually comes to an end. The longer you go without the hassles and aggravation that occur, when in a relationship, the longer you decide not to pursue the quest. I'm not lonely and I don't miss being intimatacy. However, I do miss the conversation/banter that happens with a man.

The thing is that there are periods in life when we should be single-along. And then we need to make right choice and find our partner to build family.

I think If a person suffers being alone - than he has or she has to do smth about it. If its ok - so why to look for problems?

If it works for you, it's okay. Why would you care about anyone else's opinion? dunno

Life should be lived the way you want to. Nobody on this planet should judge other for what they feel or do with their lives as long as you do not hurt or harm a fellow human being, your life is your and yours alone. There is no right or wrong when it comes to love it is down to what you need, want and feel.teddybear

Well said Josinleinspain...Yes, we have the power to live our life as we choose...without hurting ourselves and another human being...there is no right our wrong....

From reading the posts here I feel that a lot of people have a misconception of what being alone and single is all about.....

dunno

Somehow most equate single with lonely....could not disagree more......you could be in a realtionship or surrounded with people all the time and still be lonely......while one can be single and yet feel whole and fulfilled.....

I am and do....single and feel whole......and believe me....it is by choice....especially after having lived my early years on the frontline having been involved in b'casting....radio, TV and Club scene.....where I was forever inundated with crowds....and yet was pretty lonely still....standing on a podium that others had built for you....

So no.....there is nothing wrong in being single.....if that person has chosen to be so....

Surely the fact that so many single people are on dating sites would indicate that even if they are happy without a partner, they would still like to find one. This statement does not include, however, those who are just looking to play games!!!!!

How about those who enjoy CS and other networks like FB for the simple sake of 'meeting up' with folk of their own age and sharing a bit of cool time with them?
