I was going to say that it's a bloody disgrace until I read this part:
'Yet leafy, middle-class Blackheath in south London is getting missiles on its common, and another building whose roof is being used is a gated development full of young professionals.'

It is a bloody disgrace no matter where it is Serene?? It's a bloody Games Fest for God's sake! Who is footing the bill? Is it really worth disrupting people's lives for 2 weeks for a bunch of medals??

Sorry NL, I meant in the context of parking the missiles on housing commission property (because they can) as if those people have no choice and no voice.

Not half as bad as the poor people in my suburb that were told they had to move out because the building was being demolished! For new luxury apartments? Yep the flats were there thirty years plus but now the land is worth more $$$ so all have to leave. I think I would rather put up with a missile battery for a few months rather than get kicked out all together?

Yes, I remember after the 7/7 bombings in London that I became fearful of some people who got on the tube with rucksacks be because I perceived them to be suicide bombers, I was going to get off the bus once because 2 guys I was convinced they were suicide bombers but they got off just as I was about to make my move, I guess that is that sums up a bit about the fear of terrorism

I cant see the terrorist from any nation getting hold off an F17 stealth fighter any day soon, so I would personally feel like the safest person on the planet with a missile battery on my roof!
