Since im a "newbee" to your forum group, i thought about what i could add to your site... ...
The thought occoured, what about a thread devoted entirely to film and the movie going experience?...
I have had a love affair with film from a very early age, one of my first recollections of television was seeing the 1953 classic "the wages of fear" as a four year old, the images of that film were forever locked in my sub-conscious, and though it was a while before my "next" landmark film, "whatever happened to baby jane", , the die was cast, I was going to be a film follower untill i took a dirt nap...
49 years on from that first brush with the magic of celluloid, i still get a certain thrill as the title credits roll (though less common in todays movies), the swell of the introduction music, the setting of the scene for the opening third...Yep, film keeps evolving and in some cases devolving, but it is ever the experience, the big screen, the big sound and the sheer mountain of choice...For 90 minutes your in another world and all for a handfull of dollars...
So, if it pleases you ill be posting and responding to comments on film, new releases, old classics, genre defining and "sleepers" (films that escaped un-noticed but carried a real punch to them), questions, comments, criticism and generally "throwing a ball around the place" in celebration of an artform that will never die, however in bad health it might sometimes seem...
About_Blank: "Its a kind of magic"......(Highlander / 1986)

Some of my best memories as a child were of the movie theater. for 25 cents we went to the movies. 10 cents for admission and 15 cents would purchase a big bag of popcorn and a cola. This was a weekly treat from our grandfather. I can still remember all of the the old Tarzan movies they were classic. Another memory of the theater, as a child, if it was your birthday it was free admission. At intermission time, all birthdays were announced and we would go to the front of the theater where we were given a bag of goodies to enjoy the rest of the movie with. Memories of days gone by, but priceless!! Ken!!
kennn: First Tarzan movie(1918) Wow, have we come a long ways.
OMG Ken, I watched Parts 1 and 2 and now I have a doosey of a headache  Compare this to an action movie made these days and WOW, what an accomplishment.
