I use to eat it all the time when I was a kid growing up in NYC. Here in Virginia they never heard of it. These local yocals don't know what they're missing. They also never had a real NY style Hotdog poor saps. Add to that a coffee & a buttered roll. While I'm at it another think you can't get here in the south are Latka's. These are like little potato pancakes Throw some cold applesauce on top and it'll make your tongue slap your brains out. One thing they DO have down here which no New Yorker ever had is Chine bone. That's the backbone of a pig If you think loin pork chops are good, Chine is even better. Anyway, back to Halva. I just ordered 2X 1lb loaves of Marble Halva through Amazon. $20.35 including shipping.
We grew up eating Halva. It was always (and still is) a X-mas treat. I also make Halva fudge occasionally. A good treat, everyone should try halva at least once.

Yep, and love love love it!!! Being part Greek, I grew up on the stuff. Either my grandmother would make it from scratch or we'd go to Greek Town in Detroit and get various kinds by the pounds.

Hi gorgeous, long time no see. You've been absent tooooo long. I got shipping confirmation from Amazon today. I hope the mailman doesn't eat any. Years ago I worked as service manager at a place where we rebuilt very expensive shocks for race cars. A guy called us from Hawaii saying he needed a really fast turn-around on his shocks so he wouldn't miss a race. He bribed me with a big jar of Macadamia nuts for expedited service. I got the package but no nuts. I figured he probably forgot in the rush to send the package so I got the job done as promised. When I took the completed shocks back to Shipping & Recieving I asked Fred the guy who worked there, "Did you happen to see a jar of nuts?" He said "Yeah, They were delicious. I thought they were for me"
