I've spent here nearly four years .

Took me three years since I started to talk to some nice guy I met here , Started a LDR, until last December ... we got married.

Easy? Cheap? NO. But probably was one of the best things Ive done. TO give myself a chance to trust someone.

So , absolutely yes. There are people worthy of love.

JUst my five cents... may be u can check within yourself why u keep attracting time wasters...

I wish you the best.

It is hard for a single woman living in the ME, but what can you do?
Since I'm a person whom I would categorize as "a helluva lot older than you" this may not be applicable to you but I'm seeing an increasing number of married couples who met on the internet.

Seemingly 40% of all marriages in the US are now internet romances.

It is a very good starting point. You get to know the real person, without the physical coming into it.

But you DO then have to meet up in person. That is the only way you will know if you are truly compatible.

I have heard of people getting engaged, and even married (WTF) without actually physically meeting. That is madness!

Even being 'exclusive' with someone before meeting them doesn't make sense.
You might never ever meet that person, and you may have 'excluded' the perfect person, living right next door as a result.

Sheer madness, but I hope it works out for them.
40%! Wow! The technology can be a game changer, but it doesn't change people. You still have to communicate, and computers do help with that.

Unfortunately, computers are very efficient. In the old day it would have taken a team of matchmakers working around the clock to find you a date that bad.

Yeah...ummm...I don't really know what true love is, as the existence of true love would imply the existence of untrue love and that doesn't really make sense to me at all. confused

I couldn't define 'love' either...buuuut...I have this funny feeling in the very core of my being that the answer is yes.

You think you find true love and then what you thought was Love was a test even to the point after marriage and then you get some strange message that you are not quite sure how to react to....something like Hey let's screw other people when we are at least 2000 miles apart and you just kinda freeze in place like WTF. It doesn't stop there either so you don't realize how messed up it is till they tell you about the man that is just like you and that they are having the Baby that you thought was going to be your life. True Love. I think it is True but to have both people that are trusting and genuine with one another is very special. I know a few couples that are surely not perfect but they really do Love one another and treat each other with respect. And that is one thing about my GF Orsi. Even after we were not together we were friends. I admit that because of the distance we did not talk as often but if either if us did it was like that excitement to tell each other about what is happening. No animosity and no lies. I lost more than just a friend when she died. I am glad there was a lot of videos and the PR fotos. it is nice to see those. It is nice to know that maybe I influenced her while we were together in some good ways like the music and martial arts. so where is the True Love?? lol...I think it is misplaced at present.

arkisetzu: Been awhile in Cs and it saddens me to think that i can't really find someone worthy of love here. Or is there really such a thing called L-O-V-E. Most of the people I meet are just users and time wasters.. Sigh....

What makes you think that just because you haven't had a great experience, that others may have not found a soulmate?

There have been marriages and even CS babies over the years.....

One person's experience is not necessarily another's, surely?

And as for time-wasters, that happens on just about all similar sites. Its not unique to CS.

If its not to your liking, there is a wealth of 'suitable' sites out there.

Good luck! handshake

I'm a little late to the thread, but I really don't think there's such a thing as love in the virtual world. I suppose one can argue that there are different types of love and all that, but I mean the stuff that glues people together. The site can open the door, but it can't sustain it.

Just a sidenote. True love is a bit of a misnomer. There is only love and if it's love, then it's true and if isn't true, then it isn't love. professor
