Wouldn't it be fun to receive tonns of Real Christmas cards this year? Not e-cards, but real ones, with stamps.

We need to get cracking if we want to interchange cards with Europe and vice-versa (it takes over a month)

Let's keep the postman's job secure!

I think this is a wonderful idea. It would be nice to open a mailbox and see more than bills. I wouldn't post my address in a thread, though. I don't even think the mods would approve it.

Of course you wouldn't post your address, and I haven't thought that far yet. Maybe only Post Office addresses? Like a General Delivery Address?

Brainstorm, please!

actually had been thinking about this tbefore.

There must be some kind of centralized, privatized service
that could keep a cross-referenced adress list

perhaps it would cost more per parcel or c/s could work out the details
for sponsoring, advertizing, etc.

I don't send out cards to my real time friends and family. I went on strike about 10 years ago. Just call me a Grinch. It used to bug me getting cards from people who really had nothing to do with my life and I knew were sending them out due to some habitual ritual that really contained little thought of me. Probably didn't even know who's card they were signing when they signed the pile of them.

Yes, I googled this too:

Nutre-Hogar is non-governmental, non-profit organization. It was founded in July 1988 by Monsignor Romulo Emiliani together with a group of committed lay persons and with the support from other sectors of Panamanian civil society.

Since its early days, the Association's prime objective has been to help in the assistance, recovery and prevention of child malnutrition among Panamanian children. Nutre-Hogar's principal objective is to save the lives of children from marginal areas who suffer from severe malnutrition. Nutre-Hogar provides them with an adequate nutrition and the necessary medical care so that they are able to recover and lead a normal life within their environment.

Nutrehogar also provides orientation to malnourished children's parents on nutrition issues, and if needed, provides them with complementary food once the child leaves the nutritional centers.
Additionally, Nutre-Hogar supports national preventive efforts in nutrition, through education on adequate nutrition and by providing complementary food to pre-school and school age children when necessary.

Or to me... Anyone who wants to receive a nice Christmas card, handwritten, not typed, please send me your Post Office address. Is an old tradition, writing cards and letters to loved ones...

A fun idea - not sure my brain can handle the logistics, so good luck with this...

The holidays have been a downer for me (as for many others) over the last several years. I have actually been sending out cards to sort of beat the blahs. For some reason, it helps. Motorcycle-themed cards, of course grin

The way things are, Christmas is now politically incorrect. Just so "we" don't offend other religions, it is now Happy Holidays.sigh
