In case we find ourselves starting to believe all the anti-American sentiment and negativity, we should remember England's Prime Minister Tony Blair's words during a recent interview. When asked by one of his Parliament members why he believes so much in America, he said:
"A simple way to take measure of a country is to look at how many want in... And how many want out."
Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you:
1. Jesus Christ 2. The American G. I.
One died for your soul, the other for your freedom.
YOU MIGHT WANT TO PASS THIS ON, AS MANY SEEM TO FORGET BOTH OF THEM.
Posting anything good about Tony Blair, or GW Bush has a tendency to bring out the pack.
Quite a few people have strongly held opinions about both of them and do not hesitate to attack any one with a different view.
I feel that this statement and some others that Mr. Blair made in the last several years will be quoted in history books the same way that Churchill is quoted now.
Only history will tell if he was right in his actions.
The tragedy is that while US soldiers may have been willing to fight for freedom even for others, various administrations and governments have detoured these efforts to less nobel ends. The American people are like most others; respectful of and helpful to others. The policies of America has not reflected that spirit. The cause and intentions of the Revolution have been betrayed.
Although it is a quote from Tony Blair, the quote IS NOT ABOUT Tony Blair... those sentiments are very well expressed, regardless of everything else. American G. I.'s are outthere risking it for you and me, and my kids, and the kids to come. I am not political at all and the only way I get to follow the news is because it is my job...
Yes of course the American soldier, sailor, marine and air force, they all risk their lives. Many return as "injured" but the extent of their injuries isn't really talked about often enough.
Some are alive but burned beyond recognition, missing arms, legs, ears, their lives are ruined and in this war in Iraq I ask FOR WHO? Who are they dying for in this war?
Dear Mr. President Come take a walk with me Let's pretend we're just two people and You're not better than me I'd like to ask you some questions if we can speak honestly
What do you feel when you see all the homeless on the street Who do you pray for at night before you go to sleep What do you feel when you look in the mirror Are you proud
How do you sleep while the rest of us cry How do you dream when a mother has no chance to say goodbye How do you walk with your head held high Can you even look me in the eye And tell me why
Dear Mr. President Were you a lonely boy Are you a lonely boy Are you a lonely boy How can you say No child is left behind We're not dumb and we're not blind They're all sitting in your cells While you pay the road to hell
What kind of father would take his own daughter's rights away And what kind of father might hate his own daughter if she were gay I can only imagine what the first lady has to say You've come a long way from whiskey and cocaine
How do you sleep while the rest of us cry How do you dream when a mother has no chance to say goodbye How do you walk with your head held high Can you even look me in the eye
Let me tell you bout hard work Minimum wage with a baby on the way Let me tell you bout hard work Rebuilding your house after the bombs took them away Let me tell you bout hard work Building a bed out of a cardboard box Let me tell you bout hard work Hard work Hard work You don't know nothing bout hard work Hard work Hard work Oh
How do you sleep at night How do you walk with your head held high Dear Mr. President You'd never take a walk with me Would you
Tony Blair is grabbing at straws to save some dignity for making such a HUGE mistake to wag his little tail and follow Bush and Cheney and the great wise one Blair didn't even see it coming. Atleast the British people are smart enough to see through the deceptions as were most of the world. They knew Tony was a little lap dog. If they (Iraqis') had only laid down their guns and let America run their country and their resources...Tony wouldnt' be resigning. There is no other excuses. Jesus didn't die for oil and neither should American GI soldiers have to. Iraq was not a threat to the US.
