jem1964: Carl, if I wanted I could have no happy memories as well, as actions of others towards me from the age of 5 could have overwhelmed me. But, that is the one thing that has always kept me going, that if I let them take my joy of life away they still have an effect on me, and continue to have an effect on me.... I will not let them control my life, not now,, they had their time and chance, and I will not allow them to have any more of my life.
Joy can be found in the smallest of things, the warmth of the sun on your face, the smile of wonderment or friendship of a child.
I hope one day you can take that power away from those who hurt you and stop letting them effect your life today

Blizzard14u: Here is a memory for you, my brother the middle child, we all went swimming in the river one day, me and a few of my mates, my brother had nothing better to do so he tagged along, good thing too as one off my mates couldn’t swim? So as he dragged his brother under water as that time they were both about too drown, my brother just picked them both up? And walked them out off the water,
He should have been awarded a medal for that day, but as he has pulled me out from the water a few times to save me from drowning? I think I should have asked for better parents before I was born!
I don’t see him much now that he lives way down south, but he’s now a volunteer ambulance first aid driver, he is well respected in the small town that he lives and works in,
Strange that, as how you remember things as if they were only yesterday? The visual images are right there in your head as if it was happening now!

Memories, good or bad, it is like a video in your head, In them days, our days, swimming to survive wasn't really a priority. Times have changed, babies swimming now.
