Just for interest how many of you are changing to the Big Switch???
I was thinking of doing that... but first I got in touch Red Energy who is my supplier.

I called up to see if they could do a better deal for me..... they upped my paying on time from 5%to 10%, they were always cheaper than other Gas and Electricity companies anyway so it was worth a phone call.

It might be worth calling your Energy and Gas supplier if you are staying with them to see if you can get a better rate.wave

Is this 'One Big Switch' confused

Just pulled up that website which offers to look at ways for you to reduce the cost of your home loan, utility bills, broadband costs etc..

Do you know much about it? conversing

Hi Serene yes that's it they give you 16% pay on time discount and 3% on bill. This is in Vic but I think you have the same thing in NSW
The more people who join up for 3 years the cheaper it is

But Red Energy is in NSW and Vic' I have worked out they are just as cheap upping it up to 10% pay on time and only 2 years join up as they were much cheaper than the big switch mob Tru Energy in the first place.
Check Red energy out as well but you will have to ask for the pay on time 10% when you talk to them...also I like that I can understand the person that I am talking to.grin

No,
I did a big rethink years ago about power use in the home, I brought new energy efficient appliances that work fantastically, even the new house is energy efficient, my power bills are around $130 every 62 days and my gas bills have now gone to 92 days at $45, no we don’t sit in the dark all night, we live a normal life, and we don’t run around turning things of at the power point! In most homes 80% off power use is your fridge! 10 % your washing machine, the rest is cooking and lights,

So buy a new fridge that’s energy efficient, forget the plasma TV get an LCD TV, and here is the hardest one! Buy a front load washing machine! You will save power and water!

But I do have solar hot water, gas assisted,

I just hate getting 'locked in'. It seems no sooner do I sign up than a better deal comes along!
