2nd year in a row that I've had someone for the Leaving Cert. My daughter got her results today and thankfully did well enough. She's clever enough but not one for studying at all. She has her course sorted for September though.

Anyone else have someone for the Leaving this year?

My two are waiting on college offers on Monday, one changing colleges after 2 years, the other thinking of rejoining the ranks after a year in NZ.

I think they know what they want as they get older. It's hard for 17 and 18 year olds to decide what to do for the rest of their lives. Your 2 have more experience of life and will probably make better choices. Best of luck to them. peace

Had no family sit it this year...my neighbours son rang earlier to say he failed it..sigh I think some are too young sitting the Leaving Cert especially the boys who seem less mature at that age than the girls...dunno

Very few know what they want to do when they enter college, but I've told my two to stay there until they find work laugh

My son did 2 years of civil engineering (on recommendation of a friend) but hated it. He went to NZ for a year and is now hoping to get into agricultural studies.

My daughter has done 2 years of childcare and loves it but is dismayed at the low pay she can expect laugh
She's toying with the idea of child psychology but isn't going to rush into anything

peace for those that passed. Another milestone for our kids, thank God.

It's hard going for parents alright and such a pity when kids fail but there are options out there still for them. The Leaving isn't the be all and end all. sad flower

Up until I was 25 LC night was a night out, observed with fanatical dedication year after year. I stopped at 25 'cos I was with someone. I'm not now though (obviously)... old habits die hard eh? rolling on the floor laughing
