I do feel I have a couple of life experiences to be shared with others, and hope to be able to do that someday. You might consider writing a book on your life. All the best to you.

I just today I was in a class on public speaking, this was the second class out of three I will be attending that my company is sending me too. The next cloass is a keynote speaker class.

Motivational speaking is fun, no doubt about it. I've never done it officially, although I have given some unofficial pep talks that has very positive results.

Everyone has always told me that my calling was to be a teacher. All my coworkers and friends always told me that I have infinite patience and that I explain things so well. I did very much enjoy explaining things and showing people how to do things. I slowly became more and more involved with 'teaching' in places where I worked simply because I would be called upon to show new employee how to do things. This got to the point where I was teaching groups of new employees and writing a lot of instructional materials for job tasks. Mostly related to running scientific equipment.

Although, my 'real' job was a research technologist, and I always felt that my real calling was to be a scientist.

Later in life I actually got into teaching college classes. I taught for approximately 7 years before health problems forced me to resign. It was definitely a very enjoyable and rewarding experience. And much of it was motivational speaking. I kept my students on the edge of their seats anticipating my ever word. And I was teaching topics that many students don't normally like, like mathematics and physics.

I really miss teaching a lot. I would love to still be doing it today!

I am still a practicing scientist though. I just don't get paid for it now.

Last week I spoke at two different schools.

One was a group of grade ten students (about 70 or so) and I truly enjoyed interacting with them about the aspects of career, goals and aspirations for their future.

The second school was done with a group of french primary school students (about 400) along with approximately 12 teachers where I gave them a Remembrance day presentation.

I also volunteer at the Salvation army, helping out in the cafeteria from time to time. I volunteer as well at Ten Thousand Villages, a non profit organization.

I don't know if these things are a calling, but rather a sense of wishing to help others in the world, whether directly or indirectly, to make it a better place...
