After twelve months the foot is still stuffed, cant walk around the block with the cat without pain, less than four weeks too go, I am not looking forward to another 12 weeks at home in plaster. Not when I have so much to do around the place, the kid will be doing final year exams’ at the time, the only hope is this opp will fix the foot so we can move on, and do the stuff that needs doing around here, if not it’s a disability pension? And a change off house? Way down south you can get ten Acre off land for $65grand atm, I maybe due for a tree change

Sorry to hear this Blizz,

I hope that this time this op will fix your foot properly.. think positive I guess, and dont think about disability pensions, change of house etc...

Just focus good thoughts on your foot..

Wishing you the best

Bright side is that this time the foot will be better than it is now. You can put up with some pains but not being able to walk properly is a bummer.

Then again, look on the bright side. 10 acres, your daughter will finish school, grow a few spuds (and you can watch her dig them up), you get paid sit-down money.

Hope it goes well though.

We currently have a guy on workers comp who is doing a few hours a week (unpaid) with us to re-introduce him into the workforce conversing

He's 36 years old and hasn't worked for 4 years after injuring his back at his previous workplace.

However in that time he tells us he's managed to get 3 stars on every level of Angry Birds head banger laugh

Tell me about it, I had too have twelve weeks off last year after the first op, all I could here was get dad another beer! But that was the kid bossing her then boyfriend around, gee I put on some weight in those twelve weeks? And the stress? The kid had just got her learners and she had to do all the driving? You know what its like when approaching a stop sign or corner how you try to put your foot on the brake when in the passenger seat? Try doing that with a leg in plaster! No fun!

Well at least I lost the weight since the last op, at least 25 kg, I am actually fitter now than before the first op? I was 110 kg then and now 90kg ? Not sure if I can afford that much beer after this op?

I stoped doing home brew when I worked as a casual for an agency! I rang the boss and told him that I had to have at least two weeks off work, as I had thirty cartons off beer under the carport one in the brew and no place to park the car? He was very understanding?

Years ago, I had a big party in Adelaide to go to, it was a Sunday. I drove my mate down (his birthday along with his brother and sister) and we left on the Monday to do a short stint through the Simpson desert to finish off a trip we had tried a few years before.

Long and short of it, we had another party the following Saturday just out of Sydney. Mate was giving up drinking to lose weight and had 650 bottles of home brew that he was not going to touch again. We made the party, and could not empty all the bottles..... okay there were a couple of others to help but...........drinking drinking drinking drinking doh

Blizzard14u: But I did it at work! I fell out off one off the new HR trucks and landed on my ankle on a Friday just after being there twelve months, I was sent off for X-rays but the results weren’t ready till the Monday, I went back to the doctors and he said that my leg was fractured, and it would take six weeks, I took the sick note back to the boss and he wasn’t happy, but he asked me if I could train a new driver one of the runs, so I drove the first section off the run no problems as my foot was in a brace inside my work boots, it took nine weeks before the doctor sent me for an MIR scan, that showed up a shattered ankle and damaged dome, so the ankle is still stuffed after the first op so now I have to have another one, yes I hate hospitals too as I am a smoker! I left the night of the operation signed myself out about an hour after the op,
The funny thing is another drive fell out off the same truck as me two weeks after my fall? he got an ambulance to take him to emergency dept at the hospital, but when I did my foot I drove myself too the doctors and then too the x-ray centre? But the other guy was a Kiwi and we all know how soft they are!

Thanks everyone else

Ok thumbs up just thought if after 2nd op you find it hard driving a manual truck transport & doing it hard for dollars. There are more & more (fully)automatic trucks entering industry head banger

I worked for them 17 years ago as a forklift operator unloading the wagons and containers, I used to do the afternoon shift with just the two of us unloading we would get 16, 40 footers emptied a night, more than the day shift crews, but that was when they were on Mac Dowd st in Welshpool, all but one of the trucks at work are Autos, less than five years old, we have four new HR coming since last April, Hino stuffed the order up, with the fit out, we need airlift seats in the passenger side where the computers and cameras are, when we drive in the left hand side off the truck, that gives you a clue as to what the job is?

Know about the stuffed orders for vehicles. You tell them what is needed or what you want. One little spec wrong and the whole order is wrong. I said I just wanted a wagon, don't care about colour or gearbox. Specs where sent off and "auto" was listed. Ended up with a Peugot Sports Wagon 2.0 Diesel instead of the Manual 1.6 litre crapolla.

And as the Peugot was the chaepest on the range offered and they stuffed it, I got a great car to drive. banana cheering angel

Hate to see the next onefrustrated thumbs down I have a couple of others at home I do love to drive so the work car is only something for transport, not for pleasure. But I do love this onebanana
