cutting a long answer short....many were single when joining ...
made friends over the years and are here for those frienships..

There was a time that I was aggrivated with these single sites I couldn't believe many women are here, just to chat, long story short, I think the best thing to do is have a mind-set that this and other single site's are for fun and just remember a lot of these women on here have many more problems then most men want to deal with (that's why their on CS)LOL! So I recommend to get advice from dating guru's like David D. , on which lay out ways to improve your confidence on meeting women out and around town. Seeing a women out in person is 200 times better then hoping and wishing on good things on here with these war torn women ...

Well, since the married guys are now shackled with balls and chains, on-line dating sites has to be a better option to learning how to quilt, being a socker-dad, work, mowing the lawn, maintaining and redecorating the home and running errands.... don't you agree?

I've yet to see CS offer a "matching" feature, so I don't see why you'd be offended. It's not like they're forcing anyone on you.
If it bothers you so much, close your account, or gouge your eyes out so you don't have to read their profiles.

Take the option "not single, not looking" away, and you will have the exact same people here, only you have taken away from them the chance to be honest and upfront on their profile.
Also, consider this: those, who are no longer single, may have found their partner here plus a lot of friends - it is only natural that they might want to choose to stay on this site to further communicate with friends and even with their partner, if they are in a long-distance relationship.
I suggest to stop being angry over nothing and to start going with the flow here.
