Martia: I have been an Aus Citizen for over forty years but was born in the UK...but Aus is my home.
I have been back to the UK three times over the years as my ex wanted to go' but I got so homesick for Aus after the first couple of weeks it wasent funny' in fact I was a whinging Aussie.
There are some wonderful things I love about the UK ...the people, the incredible countryside, and the lovely villages but this big wild rather isolated Country is so very speciel
and I believe the epitome of Australia is WA Wow.....if any of you have never been there try to go as that State is a law unto itself' they dont give a stuff what goes on anywhere else ...why should they as they have it all ,I will always treasure the 4 years I lived there in the hills of Glen Forest.

You little Aussie you australia

You should be here now!! there are at least 4 to 6 shopping centers in each suburb well some suburbs are def like that you can shop til ya drop. This is true and like most west aussies when I shop sometimes I travel to 4 different shopping centres to do my shopping in all around the 10 klm area so many choices doh We def are a law of our own but I belive it's because we get treated that way being so far away from the other states in Australia we are not aknowleged. Oh! yeah little ol west aussie yeah! mate! have heard of em sorta!!

Have been told by my family from the east we have the best ever rail system in Australia.

Example I did notice when I bred horses and had some for sale when someone from another state wanted to buy a horse from my stud they were happy to do so providing I paid for the transport you are talking back then well over $1,000 per horse one way across the Nullabor about 10 years ago. Be way more $$ now, anyhow the point is when we wanted to buy one from the east we paid all the way to W.A. We are so isolated here in the West and I believe at one time our Goverment wanted to class us as our own country dunno but didn't happen dunno don't know if that is truedunno

Glad it didn't happen it's lonely enough living so far away from all you guys crying we are all alone crying it's ok I will be ok in a minute just having a west aussie moment. comfort laugh australia australia teddybear to all my aussie mates :wave

I was born and bred in The Shire. For those few who haven't heard of it, it is the Sutherland Shire on the south of Sydney (includes Cronulla).

There is a special affinity between those that were born and bred there. And even though I moved out of there 35 years ago, it is still "home" to me. But I would never move back there, too expensive now and full of newbies, and bloody snobs they are, too.

I met a couple through a mutual friend about 15 years ago. Both had been born in England but were here from almost their start. But coming from The Shire has given us a common bond.

Have been in Melb for 10 years now but still do not feel like a Victorian, as much as I love the place and would never move back north.

Awe Curly' now you dont really want to be closer to us in the eastern statesscold because that is what makes WA the place it is' when we lived there in the seventies do you remember that there was a full on alert that a small flock of sparrows had been sighted as there was no way that they were going to be allowed to stay' never really remembered the outcome but its still declared a pest kill on sight : and when we lived in Tassie the Foxes got smuggled on board the Ferry ...settled in very well so I heard.doh

Also German Shepherds were banned in WA and Northern Territory as they were worried they would breed with the Dingo'sconfused never found out why just this breed ...think that silly law was dropped while we were still there in WA' would have thought the Great Dane Or the English Mastiff would have been a bigger worry as they could throw giant Dingo's.

Have you still got the friendliest Taxi drivers over there? I remember they were a laugh a minute. wave
