I am winding down my work and heading into retirement. I have decided I also need to re- think my fitness levels so I am watching out for gym equipment ( second hand) new is too expensive. I need a walking machine to work my legs and arms. I use to have one & I always felt better after a good workout. I also want to get back into swiming too having a workout machine at home will keep me movivated and make me get up and at it especially as we age we need to keep active mentally as well as phyically. I also want to go to art classes this is my bucket list I will keep you updated.

What do you want out of life be in it ? What are your goals ?

Don't wanna be a couch potato

Curly, rather than buy a walking machine why not just go for a walk in the great outdoors?
It is cheaper, you get to enjoy the change of scenery and if you have a dog he/she will love you for it.
You may also find Tai Chi of benefit for flexibility.
I train at a karate dojo five times per week, which has me in remarkable condition for a man of my age.
If you are not inclined to a martial art (you are never too old to start), Tai Chi is a gentle way to do some stretching.
You may find that your local council has free Tai Chi classes as part of an activities in the parks programme.

Love your bucket list curly, you go girl head banger

I'm all for keeping active and fit as we grow older too thumbs up

The women I work with are all in my age group (35 wink laugh ) and we are like-minded which keeps us all motivated cool

We watch our diets and a couple of them have recently taken up Curves' free one month trial offer .. not really into gyms myself, more for the great outdoors but like you said, everyone enjoys different activities conversing

We reckon that as long as we keep moving, it doesn't matter how we do it.

I have heaps planned for my retirement as many women do .. which always makes me wonder why there are so many bored retired men out there, do they not make plans for this time confused

Curly , don't be to keen to give up work. I know three men who well into their 80's were running farms , one farm was a real tough one as well . Those men were all fit healthy men and happy as that seems to be the key .

I wish I could keep on working but I have a very hard slog job and it's wearing my bones out maybe I should have done an office or shop job easier then what I do physically, but putting up with people whingeing would completely & mentally do my head in. frustrated At least I have enjoyed being outdoors breathing the fresh air. daisy There is life after people need to stay active and apply themselvesthumbs up banana
