And yes I follow Aussie football since 1975 when as a 12 yo I was with a few mates in the boot (which was open ) of a yank tank . The drivers oldest son was playing in the league at the thn football park !!

Sydney Swans is a VFL team that did keep its links open to Melb even though they relocated. Not absorbed as the Lions went away. But even coming from Sydney until 10 years ago, I have been always been a Bombers supporter since the late 60s and stuck with them.
Storm?? Grew up playing League, even in my 20s but do love watching AFL. And have very much lost interest in it, when NRL did the booting of some clubs in 1983. Was a member of Cronulla-Sutherland and Newtown leagues Clubs for many years (still have my Newtown 1982 membership badge as a reminder of how fickle money is)
Daughter and her Vic husband are both League supporter, daughter for Panthers but s-i-l is Storm all the way (he played in Vic Schoolboys until he did his knee in).
Well I come from a town in England that was drenched in RL history. Think they still hold a lot of records for League Championships etc.
SO RL is in my blood.
When my ex-husband visited UK everybody thought he was an Aussie RL player! He couldn't believe how my brother arranged for him to have a tour of the local club, they even let him take a few trophies(equiavalent to NRL trophy) onto the pitch for fotos. He was gobsmacked. 
Am embarrassed to say I have only ever seen a couple of AFL games from start to finish - but phworrrr have those guys got a physique and a half

I have met a few women that have managed to go to an AFL game and they have loved the rush of the game......and the shorts.

And it was worth watching. Even though based in Sydney now, still great to see a VFL origin team win.
And the winner is ..... Melbourne Storm took out the NRL Grand Final.
Guess that leaves us with cricket and the tennis now??

Don't follow AFL so much but my kids, their dad and granddad are Bulldogs fans so I guess I will have to go with them?
