Next to the kitchen, the loo is probably everybody's sanctuary. You can feel comfortable there, you usually come out feeling better than you did when you went in and you have your time in total privacy and relaxation (hopefully)
To pass time, many people read on the loo. Newspapers, magazines, books, crossword puzzles... maybe you listen to the radio? Some people even have TVs in their bathrooms. So the question is: What's your favorite pastime on the loo (apart from the obvious)? or are you one of those people goes in, takes care of business and goes out?

I don't have time to read a newspaper so I settle for reading the toilet paper
I think for me it really depends. Now that I own a smart phone, I occasionally do Sudoku. Or, I read a novel. Problem with reading novels on the toilet though is that I tend to stay there for way too long and get distracted! So, not to be done at an inappropriate time!
I have a couple of the Uncle John's Bathroom Readers. One is the big 20th Anniversary Edition and the other is the Legenary Lost Bathroom Reader. Ya learn all kinds of the origins of how things began and the author's Aunt Lena riddles to figure out. Lots of funny origins. Each book is almost 600 pages long so lots of good reading. Also keep National Geographic, Scientific Mind and Discovery nearby. All the books above make for interesting bathroom reading to pass the time. I have learned to keep the portable phone handy as inevitably, someone always seems to call when I'm on the throne
I used to read magazines but since the internet became available on cellphones I read my e-mails or just surf the net. Time spent in the loo can be used very productively. A big NO is chatting to friends while doing your thing in the loo, that I think is defying the object of privacy
