Is it polite after answering the door to your daughters boyfriend off just two months to call out.
(you have another gentleman caller!) then say that’s about the tenth one today?

So do you torture your child as I do with embarrassment, like my parents used to try and do too me, or do you welcome the new guest in without mentioning the fact that he drives a Holden? As I also do often, and say something like, the house price has just fallen by half as someone just parked an old Holden out front, the song from Kevin Wilson comes to mind here

No' you do not do as your parents did ...think how you felt at the time.scold

You told us all what a wonderful relationship you have with your child' to keep it that way treat her with the love and respect she is showing you' if not she might not bring them home anymore to be embarrassed and no way do you want that to happen,if you think about it
she is asking her friend to pick her up from home because she loves, trusts and is proud of her dad. wave

Is it polite? - no obviously it isn't. But since there is extreme exaggeration it can be seen for the humour that's intended.
I wouldn't do it to a kid I've never met. I wouldn't do it to my daughter but she wouldn't be expecting it from me.
Your daughter knows you well and probably expects that sort of "humour". Ask her if she (and her boyfriend) think it's funny or is she embarrassed? Use her response as your yardstick.

Almost as bad as my daughter telling me that I can't spend her inheritance. Only done in company, not when the 2 of us are together.

She did it once when I was with a lady I had being seeing for about a year. She was horrified that my daughter would not let me spend my own money. I explained it was an ongoing joke between us and don't take it seriously. I think she did as it seemed to be one source of friction.

My daughter was the one who got me into spending heaps on my renos (kitchen, laundry, bathroom, ensuite and family room), helped me when picking out stuff. My daughter was brought up much the same as me. If you want something, you earn it yourself.

My mum was very frugal, as was my father and stepfather. Mum loved her cruises but was always worried that she would spend all her money and have nothing left for her children. My brother and I said each time she raised it that all we expected was enough to cover the funeral costs for her and stepfather. But stepfather already had his paid for so just mum's costs.

Up until 1 July, the only thing you really got for nothing (you do still have to suck up to family for inheritance) was the air you breath. Now they have found a tax for that.

Well he did come in and stood around me? I was on here while watching TV, (multitasking yet!) the kid yelled out from her room. (hey dickhead in here!) she has tried to explain how it works in our home, but the poor boy come from one of those controlling families?

My parents did try the controlling thing but it wore off when I was twelve as I was doing whatever I thought off, I even got a tattoo at 16 as well as being a regular down the pub and TAB, yes I was bad!

The kid turned 17 last month, she has a lot to catch up on when it comes to bad behaviour, but she is doing her best?

Yes our home is very open too conversation and guest, no we are not crazy we are still trying to get there!

I think the 3pm shut down is a great idea. No visitors after that and it is time to party

Must admit that the 'sample bag' at one meet did melt the ice. Maybe snags could organise a lucky door prize for male and for female, tickets at the door on arrival. Yeah snags, I would be happy to put in a couple of $$$s just see the range you offer.
