The most difficult thing is always having to make the first move, the approach, which is what is expected of males in our society.
The way that some women make a sport out of trying to outdo each other in how obnoxious they can be when they turn down a man kills of male interest in women pretty quickly.
This happens less as the women get older, but the memory remains.
These days I do not make a move or show any interest at all. Life is simpler that way.

I agree in that the way people treat us when we are younger can have a huge affect on us when we are older but at the same time, if you sit back and take notice you will learn quite quickly what people are about and even though you may have to go through 100 people to come across 1 or 2 people that suite it can be well worth it. I think that you need to put your heart out there to find what you're looking for and take your time in getting to know people because what you think you could never be interested in could not only be what you need but also what you have been looking for the whole time. I think opening your heart to opportunity is a neccessity to get anywhere. JMO

Also I think people not making the first move is because of fear of rejection or even their upbringing and what they are taught.
Well the most difficult thing for me is getting on a plane when i have a date in Aussie every couple of weeks... i tried to counteract it by buying my own airline but Qantas didnt want to sell and i didnt have enough munny anyways...

Maybe you should think about a move than. That first face to face date 
No matter how much talking, phone calls, emailing, msn whatever - you still don't know how you are going to re-act to each other that first time??
Sometimes I am nervous, sometimes I just think well hey if it doesn't work out - nothing lost??

Those first few hours after a first date, when you liked them and thought (hoped) it went well, but your not sure (maybe they were just being nice so they could make a clean get away) and wondering how long you will have to wait to hear from them again....if ever

Agree muchly. And when you meet, the body chemistry/intuition kicks in. Yes, no, yes, no. Who knows?
It might work for one side and not the other. And while you may be attracted, the other half goes
What the...?And the big problem that I have experienced is that a lot of women wait for "the first move" while the guy is thinking "take it easy, she is great, don't spoil it."
I know a couple who couldn't stand each other the first few times they met. Been married now for more than 30 years. Go figure.
Son and his wife were set up by their mothers and hated the idea. It worked.
