Today America ended.

The question is how? Who or what was behind it? What nations rise to replace it in North America? What style of governments are they and who is in charge?

RIP

You will see the biggest voter turn out in recent history in our Presidential election. That is with the tragic events in NE from the hurricane. But feel to free call American democracy dead,,,,daisy

Lol. I think you have mistaken my thread for offence when it is hypothetical banter.

By the way - the US is a constitutional republic that is democratic in nature to a degree and not a true democracy. There are no true democracies. Even my own democractic nation is closer to a constitutional republic than a true democracy.

I would not call it dead, though the low turnouts do not do you any favours. My theory is that a person who cannot be arsed voting really has no right to whinge until the next election. You should make voter registration mandatory at 21. It would take a while for the number of voters to rise, but in time it would rise.

True. Although Egypt has survived a while, though it has been invaded a lot and turned on its head many times.

Some would say that the Roman Empire lasted a long time as well through its reinvention of itself several times.

I could see West Australia joining the world as a nation down the track. Pays a fortune in tax and gets peanuts back. I seem to remember quite a few rebellions/secessions started that way. All you need to add to that mix is a depression, no employment and low food supplies and it would be on!

Low food supply and drought have been killers to large nations
in the past. The Mayan civilization was once great but it could
not sustain the resources. Same I suspect would happen to
United States in time especially if global warming causes extensive
droughts. I read once that the supply of phosphate will cease in
about 70 years which will curtail food production. So I see
nothing but trouble in the future. Luckily I probably will not
be around. drinking

Lol. I think not. You have been watching too many American 60's, 70's and 80's movies.

I think the day of super-communist states is coming to an end. Too many people in China want to make money.

The average age of the world's civilizations is 200 years, and the U.S. is 236 years old.
