is modern technology good or bad? do we really need the latest iphone every year? is stuff manufactured to last or to break and be replaced? what would life be like without the internet? is modern life to complicated? would a simpler life be good to have?

Everyone is free to go bush and go live a "simple life" and some people do. Most of us find that technology enhances our life.

Everything in moderation thumbs up

To be constantly chasing the latest gadget, upgrading your TV/computer/whatever is a soulless activity don't ya think drinking

I remember reading something about tablets being an item where the need was totally created, in other words most everyone already has a computer, camera, phone, ipod etc .. consumerism in its purest form.

Still think the simple things in life are the best (and often free).

Dotcom last night revealed his ambitious plans to build the $400m cable - which would double New Zealand's bandwidth - set up his new Me.ga company, creating jobs and a data centre to service the rest of the world.

He would provide New Zealand internet service providers such as Telecom and Vodafone with free access for individual customers and charge a fee to business and central government.

I had the kid on the PC at 4, simple drawing pictures and learning how to use a mouse, last week she picked up four awards in year twelve three for graphic design, Art, one in cooking, I also showed her how too cook! As I was a baker pastry cook for ten years, I don’t know much about the I phone, you would have to ask my daughter about that, as she was teaching her teacher how too use one?

The greatest advances in human evolution have happened in the last 20 years! Due to the computer in every home now, just imagine where we will be in twenty more years?

May the force be with you!
