If one of the comments is offensive, please report the comment instead (there is a link in each comment to report it).
But it does make things a lot easier if we know to whom's post they are replying to.Especially if they have an issue with another person's comments.
If they don't wish to use those options then maybe they could take the time to begin their comments with that persons screen name.
