I had a customer in the store who was recently married at the age of 78 ... she leaned over the counter to me and patted my hand and said that there was hope for me! lol She was so in love and very happy. Love indeed can find us at any age - just have to be open to the possibilities and the opportunities.

Every morning when you open your eyes, technically, you are "starting over". But I do not like the phrase "starting over". I prefer, "beginning afresh". Open your heart to the possibilities. It sounds like "freedom" has presented itself to you. Embrace it. Old? The number of calendars a person has seen does not signify age - attitude will define age!!! I, to this very day, do not let what I see in the mirror (a ruggedly handsome man hellbent for passion!grin ) dictate what I feel in my heart! Remember to wake up and fall in love with YOU everyday, each and every morning,....and once you have learned to fall in love with the remarkable person that you are,...it makes it so, so much more easy for others to do so as well! grin hug

Personally I'm starting over myself after 26 yrs and what find to be the most difficult part about is letting go and it not the cherished memories that make it difficult but the painful ones personally I find best not enter any serious relationship until I let go that pain because I don't want to carry them into a new relationship, now I just to focus on rediscovering myself and if checked my profile I'm just looking for a casual connection right now a cyberfriend, don't worry your beautiful woman you will find happiness again either way 1 step at time hug

If you didn't realize it previous, you are wise. One must heal and let go first. I wish you luck nobody and welcome to the Canadian Forums!

And sometimes you have no choice in the matter. I did not envision me looking for love at my age! But when a spouse dies and leaves you alone that is where you find yourself.

And yes, I think we have to laugh at ourself and our foibles in the process or cry trying!

Try it at 65 when hubby dies. Not fun to find your way around the world again, alone.

I think that there are few that can say that life has turned out how we thought it would ..... but what I've learned and am still learning is to make the best of what you have and keep moving forward.

The pain of loss can cripple us if we allow it to ..... its about what choices we make that make all the difference in how our world turns out.
