Nothing divides public opinion like politics and religion...
So, just me saying, No, I dont believe in something that can not be proven....I can wonder about things for which there is no empirical evidence, visa vie, alien life forms or intervention, the spirit world, the classic definition of the soul and that old chesnut religion, the godhead and all the things that are associated, but that for me is where it grinds to a halt...
Many years ago, I knew a fella who lived his live along buddist / taoist ideologies, he was no radical, just a fella who took elements of religions and let them fit around his 'way of life' or 'Zen'...
It made a whole heap of sense to a me in my late teens, not that I had been looking for a higher power, but that John had said, 'its ok to be yourself and not need to find absolution in the traditional religious houses'....
And so, 35 years later, I judge myself, I sensor myself, I try to do the best by people as I am able, and if I fail along the way, well, so be it, but it will always have been with an honest and decent aproach to everything that I have done whether personal or professional, and i dont need to look for forgivness from any higher power or authority....My way of life is simple, "self regulation", I aint perfect, far from it, but I know 'right from wrong', and if you have that in you lifes 'tool kit', God is sitting on the subs bench and you have your best team in the game....

Well if you believe in God in the traditional sense and that he died so we could be saved, then I guess it comes down to free will...we are our own person, otherwise if our lives are mapped out for us then none of our decisions are our own, they are all predetermined and not of our free choosing...But I guess it all comes down to what each individual believes, not really a topic where there is much if any common ground
