So why do I have to get sick and end up at the quack's
Nothing a prescription won't fix but I only ever have sick days when I am sick
Got a sick note til the end of the week, hope I can make up at the weekend

ask your doc for a certificate for the days you were sick, you can ask for your annual leave back if you were genuinely sick

A lot of EBAs these days have the "Bad Luck" clause inserted these days.
Okay, I have taken advantage of this before because it is a good lurk. And over 40 years I have only seen this as a "lurk."
As an example, I decide to take my 3 months Long Service Leave off. During any year, I am "expected" to take 15 days as "sickies." And therefore my employer is expected to give me an 4 extra days off as "sick" during that time?
After being a full-time worker for over the last 43 years and a "boss" for the last 3 of those, I still see this as a "lurk." And a very big "YES" I do approve those that claim it

it was my doc who made me aware of being able to claim back days you were sick on annual leave, wouldnt let me leave the surgery without a certificate.

There are lots of different viruses going around. Just try and get extra sleep and rest.

That is totally correct... I work in HR... so I can promise you... you will get it off as sick days, and you will not loose your annual leave..
But of course, you need to say something, otherwise HR will not know...
