I have just watched a short clip from a man that survived a Near Death Experience (NDE). I have also read the journal of a work-a-holic husband that has passed from cancer, and the words he left behind to his wife and family, about finally knowing, at the end of his life, what didn't matter.
I have not had a NDE, but I did experience a life-changing event some years ago that opened my eyes and heart to "what truly matters in life". This journey is not always a straight one, but the beauty of falling down a million times is that tomorrow is a new day...a new opportunity to pick myself up and try again.
You need not agree with me, and that's ok, but I think some people might agree that these forums and blogs are no longer filled with laughter, smiles, support, sharing, caring, positivity. What seems, to me, are senseless power struggles, the need to be "right" at any cost, pointing out others' flaws and insecurities and playing on them for whatever self satisfaction one receives.
Now tell me...does any of that REALLY MATTER? I read the words on here of strangers I will never meet and I feel their pain and hurt. They beg for answers of why this is happening, their frustration is apparent, and again I say, NONE OF THIS REALLY MATTERS.
So, what does matter then?
The answer to that question is a very personal one for each one of us. But this is a gift we give to one another...sharing what matters and maybe, inspiring, uplifting, or giving one another something to consider and think about.
Please use this thread to share, as many times as you want, what matters...
Here is the short video clip...
