AA Company is usually looking for experienced station managers. Must have good horse riding skills, roping, branding, herd testing, vet skills, good financial skills, able to mend any piece of equipment that goes bung, willing to put up with jackaroos & jillaroos, first aid training. Chopper license is an advantage. And preferably married.

Most of the crop farming properties are family businesses and only hire people when it is likely to get a crop in. Know a guy up near Bourke NSW where he and his 2 brothers work their fathers cotton farm. Considering that just sowing the fields costs about $1 million each year and they are lucky if they make money 1 in 5 years, not likely to put outsiders on during the lean years.

Talking with my uncle about 4 years ago and he was saying that his sheep property was bringing in the same income in as 1975. Chances of putting on someone outside the family are very slim. Especially when there are grandsons desperate for work.

Ali,

as you are to old for a work and Travel Visa you have to find a sponsor to get a 457 Visa.

For this you need to do a language test wich you have to pass with a mark of at least 5,0. and believe me its not as easy as it sounds.

You have to find someone who is willing to pay for that Visa, and all the paperwork here , I found out nothing was for free, and i had to wait nearly 6 month untill i had my Visa granted.

You also have to be carefull who is sponsering you, you have to trust that person complitly as you from the moment you stay for good here you realy have nobody.

I found out the hard way, i have the most wonderfull Job here in Australia, but it also put me in the position that I had to work 7 Days a week, 10 hours a day, and hardly any time off.

The amount of paperwork I still have to do is a Joke..and I had quite a few Moments the past 13 month when I doubted my decision to give it all up in Germany was the right one.

Just because you earn a lot of money does NOT mean you going to be happy..you will have so many moments when you feel so lonely
