I was in a relationship with a man from Yemen for 2 & 1/2 years, and we were engaged. We met after one year, in a country that would allow us both to visit easily. We spent one month together. To make a long stroy short, distance and cultural differences doomed our relationship and broke our hearts. I'd do it all again though, even with the bad outcome.
If you like the guy, don't let the distance prevent you. Who knows, maybe it can work out.

I think a long distance relationship includes a lot of problems as family obligations, who is gonna relocate if they decide to live together not to mention the expenses who can be a serious issue.

At the end of the day it’s your call, and his. If the interest is strong enough, you will both find a way. Obviously, there are practical issues to consider as the friendship matures, but you only need cross those bridges when you come to them.
One thing I do know, IF, spoilt many a good story. Be open to possibilities, take it slow, be honest with each other………good luck and enjoy the journey..
If something is worth it, bring on the battle! How you assess this worth, is for you alone to decipher.
In summary, I would pursue the matter if I felt that there was a mutual ‘something there’.
