Take a good long hike out into the deep woods and when that bear or wolf comes to eat you, you'll wish too God you had a gun!! As those teeth bite into your flesh and you're screaming in agony watching chunks of your flesh being eaten your idea about guns will change really quickly!

modermen: Well I can agree with that, a soldier is trained how to use one of them strictly and taught to respect the firepower and return it back to barracks in the store room under lock and key, I personally own a high powerd bow which is deadly and silent to which a psycho would find it hard to kill maybee 2 people with it but with an army assault rifle well we all know the damage they can do by a crazy individual and it seems alien to us here in Europe why a civilian can purchase a serious weapon like that.

The only full-auto weapon I've fire is a Thompson machine gun. I was unprepared for its muzzle-lift first time I fired one. Hard to believe anyone would want to own one or even be able to afford to fire it. I own a .45 pistol that went full auto on me. I won't say the manufacturer or what part failed but the 8-round magazine in it emptied real quick and I put a few holes in the ceiling because of the unexpected muzzle lift. Individual round firings were undistinguished too.

Also, I quit using a few indoor firing ranges because of all the newbies with less experience than I shooting the place up.

montemonte: Dont talk about me as if I am not here lol.

And I have already explained to you that guns are made to maim and kill, and one of the reasons I have never been to the USA is because people think its ok to have guns around the place and the bowling thing really confuses me, why shoot the pins instead of knocking them down? Thats not the point of bowling. He's being sarcastic G about the bowling thing.

Galrad is wound up in his gun collection. That's the key word "collection". People collect all kinds of things. One might want a Japanese sword hanging on his wall; another one wants the head of large animals (disgusting); another one collects knives; bows & arrows; artwork. The thing is, the collection isn't used to maim and kill. People just want stuff.

Police officers carry a gun. Their sworn motto is "To Serve And Protect The Public". They know the gun on their hip can kill someone but they don't use it unless it falls within the SOP of their job. Think about how many police officers there are in the world who carry a gun. You may walk within three feet of an officer even though you know he carries a gun.

Don't get me wrong. I don't like it that Galrad loves his guns but he's not doing anything wrong. It sounds like he has a lot of guns. The reason he's not one to be reckoned with is because Galrad is harmless that makes his guns harmless. The person that has one gun because he wants to kill someone for the fun of it, is the person to be afraid of.

Glatlol: Eh is the USA being invaded and taken over?

Glatlol: Eh is the USA being invaded and taken over?

My answer would be ,Yes, as I view every type of assault against anyone as an 'invasion' of some type.
Every store, or private home, or public building that others forcibly enter, break into, invade with the purpose to robbing, stealing, assaulting, raping or and killing in an invasion and should be repelled and resisted by whatever means possible.
There is only one thing with the NRA that I fully agree with and that is stated at the front of the American Rifleman Magazine (on hunting), called "The Armed Citizen". "The mere presence of a firearm, without a shot being fired, prevents crime in many instances, as shown by news reports sent to the Armed Citizen. Shooting usually can be justified only where crime constitutes an immediate, imminent threat to life or limb or, in some circumstances, property. The accounts below are from clippings sent in by NRA Members; not by soldiers of fortune Magazine subscribers.
What then follows are many cases all answered by police that took place around the nation. The mind set in Ireland is not the mind set in the US. Neither is the population nor the levels of violenve; premeditated or random. The populations are not homogenius in the US as for the most part in Ireland. It is nice and cozy to be all cozy in a pub in downtown, Dublin or Galway, (unlike Belfast, just several years ago, with the Provos and IRA gunmen running about, tossing firebombs and shooting people, right)
It is also nice and cozy to be several thousand miles away from what I have experienced as a 'low-level urban warfare free-for-all' that exists in most US cities rapidly spreading into all communities, not by the number of weapons, but by the type of mentality that only understands violence and spreads it using weapons of all sorts. The weapons; the guns come afterward as the surest and fastest way to respond to an assault of usually deadly force Their entire mentality , attitude is still, basically alien to all Europeans, and understanding that they perceive themselves to be "under siege" may help in keeping that out of our lives, though I seriously doubt it. Germany and France is awash in violence of all sorts and gang warfare. Weapons spread and more people begin to reach for them. Guns are no longer exclusive to urban guerrillas such as The Red Brigades or the Red Army factions. Now that Ireland is part of the EU, Ireland will get to share in all that garbage imported from Africa and the Middle East, not to mention US movies on your Tele...

Well the same also I believe can be said for owning certain types of dog ie pit bulls as more and more people are being killed horribly from them like a girl I seen recently trying to walk 2 of them and they were straining and throthing potential killers especialy in the case of another person with a little terrier, but for anybody to just go in to a shop and buy an armelite assault rifle is absolutly crazy with 10 bullets fired per second into a crowd of people and not to mention if there are ethnic tensions as there are in America, only trained people should have that sort of serious hard ware.

you can't buy a Gun like that in any Shop!
Full Automats are strictly Military!
What you can buy is a watered down version of the Military Rifle that is incapable of serial Fire!
I sure like the Expertise in Europe!
Inform your selves,then advise!
Actually,I can get the watered Version of the Swiss Assault Rifle after a Background Check right here in Switzerland!
But it ain't an Assault-Rifle no more, just a somewhat scary looking semi-Automatic Rifle, which is incapable of firing ten Rounds per second!
BTW,the Armalite can't do that either as a semi-Automat!
Don't know where you got your Specs from!

montemonte: The Second Amendment is just an excuse to get around killing for the fun of it. If it wasn't there gun owners would use a different excuse to "defend" themselves.

Congress will never changed the Second Amendment because they are in bed with the NRA. And now the NRA wants an armed guard in every school. Putting aside the senseless suggestion, what if the guard is on the other side of the school from where the gunman is? How much help is he going to be. Nonsense!! Just another way to sell more guns.

Guns will always be around. That's not the problem. The problem is who can buy a gun.

Monte, we all should be VERY fearful of the gov all the more now!!
The O admin is cutting our liberties off more by the day. And after Ruby Ridge, Waco, Kent Sate and the like. Now DHS buys 1.6 BILLION bullets, 200K of those are sniper rounds, and 2500 heavily armored vehicles??
We have FEMA camps ( they look like prisons ) being built across the nation, Jessie Ventura went to one on Conspiracy Theory, and showed 100's of thousands of coffins for gov use to hold 4 or 5 bodies each!

All the gov talk of taking our guns away from us going on right now??? This is BAD! VERY BAD!!

Ok semi automatic either 7.62mm or the smaller guage for the m16,give me one and I will tinker with it and get it up to full automatic fast or for the person who dosent know how they just point it into a crowd of people and pull the trigger fast at least the old german mauser was bolt action and a maniac would take time to kill a few more people if he had the chance.
