virgosingle: I dont know if anyone has said it yet ....but schools should have the same security as at airports ,and school fees should go up topay for it all

Hi virgo I think I did mention something like you did in regards to having security in the schools.

Which means that school taxes go up right?

Regardless of whatever is put in place there will be some people complaining about their taxes being raised.

Ccincy: Since there's been a lot of debate on here lately about gun control etc. What would be the best way to go about protecting our public places like schools etc in regards to shootings.I'm not going to ban anyone.

EVERYONE brings their gun and all get a gun class with target practice everyday! This way anyone comes to start shooting "people" and they die in a mass hail of lead!

There is only one way to stop mass shootings at schools.... that is : Home education, yes it will mean that one parent would need to stay at home, the government would have to pay that parent to stay at home and not go to work. Teachers would not lose their jobs as they would be still be part of the program keeping in touch with the children and parents via tele-conferencing, phone, internet etc.... and the children would also keep in touch with each other using the same media to develop their social skills.

I have a friend who travels around Australia on a large yacht (port hoping) all year round, he takes his whole family wherever he goes including three children, they are all 'home educated' by the parents and much smarter for their ages than most children I know combined with great social skills...

O.K. I think the most effective remedy to fix needless insanity would be to concentrate on the injustice to the children of our future. Children may not be taxpayers but someday they will be.

well since 14 people were stabbed at a community college in Texas today making every school and public place on the map a gun free zone isn't going to work....what a shock...violently crazy people are still violently crazy even if they don't have a gun.

now here come the think of how many more would have been killed or injured if he had a gun comments to which i say think of how many fewer would have been injured if after the first stabbing victim he were shot in the head...

President Obama flew families of the Newtown, CT elementary school shooting to Washington today on Air Force One to help him lobby to pass the Bill for gun control. No one voted a YAY for gun control.

How can you make schools safe when our government doesn't really want gun control?

First paragraph of the link:

WASHINGTON — As Senate Democrats approach a key decision on gun legislation, relatives of victims of the horrendous Connecticut school shootings are mounting a face-to-face lobbying effort Tuesday in hopes of turning around enough lawmakers to gain a Senate floor vote on meaningful gun restrictions.
