... a dichotomy in which you hate what you do so you can have pleasure in your spare time. Look for a situation in which your work will give you as much happiness as your spare time. - Pablo Picasso

Does anyone truly have an ideal job, one that brings as much happiness as your leisure time?

I have a job that is better than what I do in my spare time because it distracts me from my problems for 8 hours, 5 days per week. That said, the job itself isn't great, but my spare isn't either.

Yes, I can say I love my job...it never makes me feel that is "drag" to go and work at it. But, at the same time, there is desire to move on, after 20 years, up the ladder so to say, and find the next interesting career.
Loving what you do sure makes a diference in life...dancing

I have 2 jobs and I love both of them for different reasons. I have been in my full time job for just over 18 years and my part time job for just over 16 years. I am very fortunate that I found a career path that I enjoy.

When my ex asked for the divorce I was a stay at home mom with 4 kids ( 2 singles and a set of identical twins). We always believed that it should be the parents that teach the children values and not childcare. So after I moved out I got my class 2 license and started driving school bus. Now I know that it's a great job in some peoples eyes but it really saved my life in so many ways. To be very honest here it is the only job that after 3 years I still love getting up in the morning ( even in -40 weather) and going to work. Such a job that some look down upon has helped me get my life back on track and raise my daughter and give her all that she needs. The pay is not great but have always managed to stay our of *regional housing* and pay rent higher than most peoples morgages. It has also enabled me to take further steps to improve my skills as a instructor and prepare me to get my class one.

I have always believe that it is better to have a job that you love instead of one that you hate doing. I can't imagine having a job that you have to do every single day and hate ever moment of it. You just end up bringing the stress and disatisfaction of that job home with you.
