I've been on this site only 2 weeks, and it's suprising how many men overseas have hit on me with the idea that they can pull me into a whirlwind online romance and have a ticket to a great new life in the USA, asap. Over and over again I explain how the process really works. After I do that, they vanish.
I decided to post for everyone how the process of getting into the USA through marriage actually works! US immigration will NOT consider an appilcation if the couple hasn't known each other at least one full year. The couple must produce a substantial amount of evidence that the romance is very much real. Proof of much daily contact, gifts, letters, phone calls. In addition, they require that the couple meet overseas in person to spend time together. Immigration requires copies of travel itenerary, and photos of the couple together. If the couple can produce all of this, then both are required to have interviews at the embassies in their countries. The people who conduct these interviews are well trained to spot a fake easily. if both people aren't genuinly in love and dedicated to each other, immigration will know it.
Yes, there was a time when a person could get into the USA by way of a quick marriage to an American, but those days are long gone and fakes no longer slip through.

For those that are interested I suggest a careful planning and lots of money and then a insurmountable amount of trust. Look up USCIS and the Visa I-130 for bringing in a wife or husband or even immediate family and K9 Fiance Visa for those that are coming in to be married here. In the long run they both have about the same cost and they differ in some ways depending on if you are planning on a regular commute between here and there. Many people pay a lot of money to have lawyers take care of it but if you are comprehensive in reading and resourceful in collecting documents you can do it as a couple. I am not going to go into my personal details but maybe this little bit is something that can help someone to really get a idea of what it is all about or a starting point for investigating the process.
i get the same thing from ( younger ) women wanting to come here to australia, forget for a minute that its a high chance they are scammers, its expensive,,, you surely have to meet them first before commitment then the visa's, i know of guys who have spent ten grand on getting women here,,( a russian ) and it did not work out,, might be cheaper from else where ??
You know I can't say it. But I live right here in the thick of it. OK, if I met a woman that had made her way across. whew!! big headache if I want to get her papers fixed.....maybe we could sneak back across. LOL. I do have a friend that came here from eastern Europe and became illegal. she was here with a husband that the two of them got divorced, he found a younger woman. But she was on her own, she took a long time and really went through a living hell but today she has her papers. A very lovely lady she is. Of course like most they have no interest in me other than a nice guy to talk to. really sucks..LOL.

"Great new life in the USA" !!! Just let them know that the unemployment rate in the US has not been this high since 1984 and they won't bother you again (that's if they have an average IQ, at least), or they may amaze you with how far they manage to fall outside and below the normal range of intelligence and still want to go to the US!
I actually knew a man who before he brought his foreign wife to be to Australia sent her photos of Cable Beach in Broome when he actually lived in Derby. If you have ever been to that part of Western Australia you will realise there is a difference. Needless to say wife was not impressed.

I can't imagine anyone wanting to live in the US except for the desperate scammers that you mention. 20 years ago maybe but not on the slippery pole of present day US.
You know it's not so bad, I mean to say that though things can be tough in many places and yet in most of those places I think many people are not packing their bags either. I could say something negative about some of the countries I have been but no, there is good and bad in all places I truly believe.
easy to get into America, easiest country in the world they even pick you up for free and fly you there, just tell them you work for al-Qaeda and they will come and pick you up

I don;t think I would like the place they "sit you down" though.
