iamamm: It cuts out all the hassle of marrying in the Phils , too !
but clearly with 2 daughters of my own and an existing will , i will have to seek legal advice to protect what is a rather complex situation ( UK/ France and Spain, lol ) ...but yet make adjustements for a new wife ? hehe
( even saying that sounds weird )

Surely I am not the only romantic fool ( not really )
you have chatted to ?
One of the problems with CS, outside of the Forums is people do tend to judge on superficial things....instead of chatting to everyone and anyone...amazing what you learn differently ?
Someone messaged me last night on here...and to start with ( having looked at her profile I was thinking..hello, what's all this gonna be about then....but she was being helpful , offering advice on this subject....lovely girl .

Hi Andy! It seems that your plan is starting to be more concrete and realistic…and I guess it’s going to work out well. Just have faith…angel

I definitely agree that you have to seek legal advice for your properties and will (thank goodness I don’t have anything to worry about)…but, of course, you also have to think about your new wife…

You know Andy..romantic men do exist out there..and I have met some of themroll eyes …but…the only thing that they want is to take me straight to their beds…tell me, should I take that as a compliment?frustrated blushing

That lovely girl who messaged you here the other nightwink ..you don’t have to worry what’s that gonna be about…maybe she was helpful because helping makes her feel good.cheering Besides, I don’t think there’s anything wrong if she becomes your chat mate, cyber friend and possibly a real friend…Malaga is only more than an hour by plane from where she is….and perhaps meet you and your future wife and get invited to the wedding.applause yay cheers

Stay cool and see ya aroundcool

To not regret not having done so, spend your money on a consultant on immigration and perhaps there is a way to get a tourist visa for her for a few months. Once here everything is easier.

Hi and thanks GUZMAN1

Do you mean a consultant in Spain ?

( I do know there are many , but rather dubious agencies
in the Phils that suggest a 100% guarantee of getting anyone abroad...
but then ask for fees amounting to about 2.2K euros...
equal to about 1-2 years pay for a Filipina....
and a lot of money for anyone , lol )

Strangely she works for one ! grin
so she knows she can get a 90 day Tourist Visa.....with a lot of
hard work and documents etc.

What does ' it's easier once here ' mean ?
That it's easier to find any way to change the TV into a permanent
arrangement ? and if so, by what means ? work / marriage ???

Would be interested to know further grin if you can offer any advice ?
Cheers, Andy

I am lawyer and I know a few about this, even when it's not my special field. Usually a visa needs a "letter of invitation" made before a notary in which is mandatory to promise to keep at home the foreign person. Legal requirements are changing because many people stay longer than allowed by law and the authorities doesn't expell them if they do not perform illegal activities.

Specialists know the legal difficulties that often put the authorities (depending on country of origin) and the time usually take to give an entry visa.

Hello and thanks again !

Yes, I do know about the letter of invitation ( and other things )

but didn't know it ( or maybe other things ) would have to be
' notarised ' for them to be acceptable ?
It doesn't say that on the above form...
unless this ??? :

Order PRE/1283/2007, of May 10

includes the statement ? I don't know what the order is..
so can't comment ( yet ! )

Agreed....but it is not our intention to do anything illegal
though I personally know some that have !
But that just makes it all tougher for all of us ?

Okay, I have asked someone I know to find such a Consultant
( maybe I will google it too )
but I think the Embassy suggests it takes about 2 months
assuming all the correct documents and info are correctly
supplied to them ?

Andy

( ps...I must have clicked on something accidently and also reposted your reply, sorry grin )

Hiya 'SS'
Course I don't mind .....it's a free country and an open thread !
Yes , have heard those stories and I do believe in Fairy Tales and Santa still laugh !
And yes, I have looked into living in the Phils.....life would be good there.....only problem is unless I set up a company there, I cannot ' buy ' in my own right ( only she can ?? )....so maybe I would rent ?
But for now.....I have properties ( rentals in Spain and France ) which are equally for sale..and with the current climate they are not going to sell for a sensible price, so I need to keep renting them, thus be here......for the meantime, anyway.
frustrated
Of course I can just go on a hols there, but same issue, max 1 month, whereas she could come here on a Tourist Visa for 3 months
- anyway, as of last night I now have the definitive answer to how to write the letter and who can ( maybe me ! )
applause thumbs up
I'd like a Happy Ending too , think I deserve one !
ps not the massage variety either ! blushing

cheers Andy x

bouquet Ohhhhh at last something romantic happening on CS!

Good for you iamamm!

Best of luck to you, and a happy beginning with your lovely lady.

A guy here in my village just got married to his Thai lady - was a long a difficult journey to finally tie the knot, but they managed, in the end.
