I realize it will vary by country in fact not all shows are available in all countries so if somebody mentions a show you never even heard of that may be why. In the US my favorites are #1 The Big Bang Theory. I find myself thinking about a scene from that show and start laughing all over again. The producer, writer, casting director etc. has finally broken the code of what comedy is. #2 Judge Judy. That woman doesn't take sh from anybody and if the litigants think they can pull the wool over her eyes they are in for some embarrassment in front of 10 million viewers. I just love it when she looks at a defendant and askes "Is there something wrong with you, are you on some kind of medication"?

The ad breaks are usually more interesting than the scheduled programs.
Over 1000 channels on SKY and still nothing worth watching
ooby_dooby: I used to watch a show from the UK that I really loved called "The fall and rise of Reginald Perrin" I wish I could watch those shows again.
Still legendary in the UK. Leonard Rossitor who did the original sadly died but is held in high esteem. There was a remake a couple of years back with Martin Clunes but never really made it.
Anyway, I didn't get where I am today by discussing old BBC tv programmes.

On Showtime: Oliver Stone's "The US - the Untold Story (or something like that)." I hope our republican friends are watching it. Yesterday it was about Reagan and it left me wondering whether he was the most conniving person ever or whether he was just stupid, but surrounded by conning advisors with their own agenda. This series should be compulsory viewing in High School !
It's a bit difficult to catch on in the beginning, but things clear up once you can remember the names of who's who and read or watch the introduction.

I think Reagan started losing his marbles long before he died. If you look at the chronology of events he actually commited treason even before he was inaugurated by selling arms to a terrorist state. You can bet the farm that that hostage deal had to be arranged to take place months before he was sworn in. Then he compounded his criminal act by giving the proceeds from the sale (which was not his to give) to the contra rebels in Nicaragua. He should have used that money to fund his stupid unworkable "Star Wars" project. What a maroon. Sorry but I digress. I don't get Showtime anyway.

I agree!! Yes, he was a traitor, but as I said, it's not clear whether it was by design or ignorance. Either way, it's not good on the country's resume, so to speak.
I only get showtime because I'm at an ESA right now. I hope you can manage to watch that series somehow. I'm sure you would enjoy it.
