Thousands of gun owners across America have had enough of the Obama administration’s attack on the Second Amendment – and they’re preparing to take their concerns to the capitols in at least 47 states this Saturday at 12 p.m.

Texan Eric Reed, founder and national coordinator of the “Guns Across America” rallies, told WND he’s irritated about all the talk of new gun-control regulations and overreach by the federal government in violation of our Second Amendment rights.

“I was trying to figure out why people weren’t being more proactive about this, Reed said. “Then I realized I’m part of the problem. It takes somebody to stand up and say, ‘Hey, we’re not going to accept this. We’re against it.’

“We want Americans who feel the same way to come out. We want to stand up, be united and get our point across.”

Roger dodger. I hope they can keep Dirty Hary Reid from harming the 2nd amendment again too. He's probably more dangerous than comrade king obama. Never believe anything these guys say; their actions are always the opposite.

I read "Thousands of gun owners across America have had enough of the Obama administration’s attack on the Second Amendment – and they’re preparing to take their concerns to the capitols in at least 47 states this Saturday at 12 p.m." and I ask what other rights are affected.

Law wouldn't take away the people's rights, in a constitutional system.

There all kinds of things in the constitution that are no longer practiced, protectionism being one. And let's face it, keeping jobs in your country has to be more important than keeping guns in it.

Anyway, I see that guns have a cultural and traditional value to America and if I was an American I'd be pro-gun because of this. But being purely rational I can't say that the scale and type of weaponry available in modern America is either safe nor sane.

A very good friend of mine who served in the Military, simply put it this way: Obama now shows his true colors and can do ANYTHING he wants, he has nothing to lose, but WE all do.

Yes, but if they didn't want guns they wouldn't care about the 2nd amendment. The amendment is just a banner. The Americans have already dropped parts of their constitution for their own gains, however short-term and ill-gotten these gains were.

If Americans adhered to the rest of the constitution like they did to the 2nd amendment then China wouldn't be the giant, dark, lurking leviathan that it is today.

You might have something there when, in the near future, electronic propelled bullets replace powder driven bullets.

Btw I don't own any assault type guns but I do own some hi-powered rifles, pistols and shotguns that are used for hunting, self defense and sporting clays...oops bowling pin matches too. I don't see the need for assault rifles and never will own one, but a ban on them is against the 2nd amendment. A handheld rocket launcher that can bring down a plane etc can also be carried but you won't see anyone here walking around with one, loaded or not.

I'm not losing anything cause I choose not to own a gun.

I sure don't take for gosphel whatever the media writes.

I just got through reading a news item on Yahoo news about Obama and sure enough the Media is still making a living off of the children and adults who were killed at Sandy Hook. They should be ashamed of themselves.

also it is sad that the president uses children as props for his socialist agenda. he should be ashamed of himself for doing it and for stealing their future by his failed economic polices

Weapons have no value in any culture. Such an asertion is absurd and somewhat offensive.

I am very tired of all the sanctimonious BS about the US constitution. Simply because something is 'gauranteed' within any agreement does not make it right or appropriate for any given timeframe and any constitution is open to modification.

Face it. The US constitution sucks a big one on several fronts. The second ammendment clearly being the elephant in the room.

Wake up America. Revise your constituion. Have the guts (and the heart) to change with the times and protect future generations. Anyone who fails to support significant gun control measures now is 100% complicit in future massacres of the innocent.

Or don't listen to me and carry on killing your compatriots and yourselves. Your choice.

One could argue that the difference between yesteryear's muskets and today's weapons is more than this difference?

I just think that there are parts of your consitution that you really do need to be getting uppity about. And to keep hearing about the 2nd amendment, when you've obliviously lost so much more already, is an insult to good sense.

Ah I see John-Boy is suggesting the idea of a coup d'etat.

Careful lad. My understanding is that such an asertion is treason in itself. You could find yourself dangling from the end of a rope for such talk in many Western democracies though I'm sure hanging would be preferable to whatever method is in vogue in North Dakota.
