Newlife08: Awesome, angry looking sky there Rob? Wish we could send some of this rain down to you to put those fires out.

Hope you get some showers at least some time soon?

Got a bit of moisture late today and heading towards Rob.

Heard that the Aberfeldy (major Vic one) fire was deliberately lit. By a local 75 year old.doh doh 60,000 hectares, 22 homes and 1 death (as I heard).

I have some work to do up in Aberfeldy but was told today that it might be at least 6 weeks before I can get a permit to enter the area.dancing Sorry, but the 4wd vehicles they give us are not suitable for the roads up there at the best of times. And I ain't using mine for work.

yeah he was in court yesterday lighting a fire with written permission

UPDATE: A 75-YEAR-OLD civil celebrant has been charged with lighting a Victorian bushfire that killed one man and destroyed homes.

Grahame Ernest Code appeared briefly in Latrobe Valley Magistrates Court yesterday on five charges related to the fire, which has so far burnt through nearly 75,000ha of land in the state's east.
