Mondosmith: No I don't believe in soulmate stuff and either does Catholic teaching.
I am talking about designing in your mind your ideal woman, from looks to education to values, and visualizing yourself and her together.
Then by laws of nature and attraction your mind waves will call her to you. You will get a hunch to go somewhere or do something and you will bump into her.
question for you, mondo
so now.. you've sent out your mind waves, you think you met her... how are you making your decisions? you see the potential, you're getting some but not all of your expectations met, ... how do you separate your expectations from the reality, where is your line in the sand?

Perhaps we don't define soulmate as the same thing. Soulmate would be the ultimate chemistry and this would force concessions on looks that I would not make for other women - such as a somewhat nerd-like posture or too many freckles.
And I totally agree in having a clear view of the value of women, both in the absolute and relative sense, but there needs to be more than this. Understanding your desires will reveal to you your goals, but only understanding hers can achieve them.

Never, let me repeat NEVER follow a hunch--it's got me into more trouble than I imagine
Rumple4skin: Yes, there's a quality of being too arrogant to lie or deceive that women are attracted to.
hiya Rumple4skin
without quoting several studies, in a nutshell..., why do you think that there are so many women not only attracted to this level of arrogance, but willing to live with it?
i believe that ultimately we are responsible for our own happiness. i also believe that one can choose to find happiness in any and all situations with a developed sense of awareness (not one i have, but aspire towards).
what do you think are the reasons women find this arrogance attractive? (initially i read it as self confidence when really it was narcissism.)
