Our footballers now are required to run all four quarters off the game? It used to be the team that conserved its energy ran all over its opposition in the last quarter, Aussie rules is going to end up like soccer? With match fixing and corruption! Until we stop the betting!

You have hit the nail on the head Blizzard, (see my next thread on this - Aussie sport n Drugs). Sport, betting, big stakes = corruption. Which sadly is looking like exactly what we have now in some Australian Sports. It is not just about the drugs/growth hormones etc. there are established links between organised crime and athletes, sports medical staff etc.
The writing is on the wall for some people, they will be getting a knock on the door and an invitation to explain ??????
Seems if you played for Essendon in 2012 and are now about to play in an AFL afilate league you may not be safe

Its not only now, its been going on for years..... A young nephew of mine was an up and coming champ, always best and fairest, started training with the Bombers, was introduced and told to start taking steroids, he flatly refused. He was not allowed to train anymore unless he changed his mind, never got a game and was not allowed to approach any other club. And that all took place 30 yrs ago.....
