Dadude62: They chat on the celestial phone,,,

Something like this,,
Ring ring,,,
Uh hello ? (harp music in background)
Hi Jesse,, this is Ben. (organ music in background)
Oh Hi Ben, hear you will be joining us soon, but can't you wait until you expire as our spokesman down there ?
Jess, I just can't take this stress no more, what with all the sht going on down here, it ain't what it used to be, all that sin, gay marriage, child molestation, can't burn em at the stake no more, can't torture, only thing left is to condemn them to hell for eternity, and they just ain't listening to that either. What's the use, Jess ?
I guess I'll have to take another trip down there and knock some heads, just when I'm recuperating from my last trip. Dad was saying the other day that he was really getting upset with no-one getting their sht together so his plan can finally kick in. He said he was getting ready to send me but not by the old route. I asked him to send Mom, that my hands were still hurting but he wouldn't hear it.
I feel your pain Jesse,, you can surely imagine mine, so I gotta go.
Ok if you have to,, we've been looking at a guy named Peter to replace you anyhow and if he does not work out we'll just have to put an end to this whole charade on the 7 hills. We'll talk further when you get here.
Ok Jesse, bye,,,
We'll be seeing you Ben,,,

Miss_Behavin: I JUST WAS EXPLAINING MY DEEP CONVICTION AND RESPECT FOR THE CHRISTIANITY AND THE POPE, AND WILL NOT REPLY TO YOU, BECAUSE WE OBVIOUSLY HAVE DIFFERENT POINTS OF VIEW ON THIS IMPORTANT SUBJECT. NO POLEMICS ON FAITH AND TRUST IN GOD PLEASE.. ITS UP TO YOU TO HAVE NONE AND SPIT ON EVERYTHING IF THAT PLEASES YOU, BUT I WONT GO ON POLEMICS.
MY FAITH IS STRONG AND ALWAYS WILL BE ...

I think, your faith has nothing to do with the p*dophile Catholic priests furthermore not all the Catholic priest are p*dophile some of them have a female partner and have a family but antiestablishment because they are not allowed to.

If people believe in a God and practice a religion is fine.
If people believe in no God is fine too.
What ever in between or around is fine too.

What matter is what people DO with what they believe in or not.

RDM59: …….Out of all the organizations that are guilty of such cover ups surely you can understand the high level of attention the church gets considering what it supposed to stand for !......

And as a mater of fact that element is considered when asigning penalties to the abusers of children, like priest, coaches, teachers, boy-girl scouts leaders, parents included, etc..

RDM59: .....From what I understand about the Catholic religion, it's followers are told that the only way into heaven is through the church, the alternative is eternal hell and damnation so I can understand how it's believers would remain silent from the fear of being ostracized and risk the personal rewards promised by their unquestioning devotion.

Wot???

I did grow up in a Catholic home, I did go to Catholic school and I live in a Catholic Country and I can tell you that "il inferno" is not a problem for many of us. If people are afraid of the inferno, just confess your sins, pray and they are gone (BUT you are supposed not to repeat them). giggle

Myself, I am not afraid of the inferno. I might see most of the CS members there.

uh oh

Perhaps, I must be afraid of the last!

"When the resignation of the Pope was announced earlier in the week, the news seemed bizarre, almost unbelievable. I find, as I get my head around the idea, that the whole thing just becomes more bizarre, not less.

If you strongly believe in God, I suppose you can tell yourself that He moves in mysterious ways, as per. But if you don't, then this all seems rather like the moment when the curtain moves back to reveal the Wizard of Oz as a wee man pulling levers.

Exposing the Papacy as a job, not a sacrosanct heavenly ambassadorship, is a quite risky thing to do, precisely because it's so human, so humdrum, so non-spiritual.

The only logical conclusion is that Joseph Ratzinger no longer believes that he is God's representative on earth.

Awkward.

The Pope has surely lost his faith."

There was also another note on the international news about the Gay Priests ring as the primary cause for the resignation of the Pope. However, that is not news and I wonder how could a Pope deal with it. Since there are reports of 20 to 50 % of the Catholic priests being gay.

That is rather interesting to know about it.

Marc2010: The Pope Benedict XVI will resign on February 28.

The last resignation of a Pope was in 1415.

"...Pope Benedict XVI to resign on Feb. 28, Vatican says

By Claudio Lavanga and Alastair Jamieson, NBC News

Updated at 6:52 a.m. ET: ROME -- Pope Benedict XVI announced Monday he will resign on February 28 because of his failing health, saying he no longer has the strength to carry out his duties.

The 85-year-old announced his decision during an address, in Latin, at the "Concistory for the canonization of the martyrs of Otranto", a small event held in the early morning.

The decision, which took even the Vatican hierarchy by surprise, makes him the the first pope to resign since the middle ages.

His statement was posted on the Vatican Radio website.

He said carrying out the duties of being pope — the leader of more than a billion Roman Catholics worldwide — requires "both strength of mind and body."

"After having repeatedly examined my conscience before God, I have come to the certainty that my strengths, due to an advanced age, are no longer suited to an adequate exercise of the Petrine ministry," the pontiff's statement said.

The choice was a "decision of great importance" for the church, he added.

Greg Burke, senior communications adviser to the Holy See, confirmed the pope will step down on February 28 at 8 p.m. local time (2 p.m. ET), leaving the office vacant until a successor is chosen.

Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger became the 265th pope in April 2005, describing himself "a simple, humble worker in the vineyard of the Lord."

His tough stance on theological issues had earned him the nickname "God's rottweiler" ..."

What I heard on the news after this event was that he resigned before he was pushed by the Vatican power brokers. A bit like a politician resigns when actually it is a sacking.....

This is what some "insiders" were saying on the news the other night.....
