A mate is in the RAAF and they have to do survival training courses. One part is looking at available food sources (bit about Higgins doing his stuff across Aust).

They looked at many food-stuffs around them every day. Snake was a good source of meat protein but they found that it has more bone than meat. #1 on the protein list was cockroaches.

When I am starving out in the middle of nowhere, and have a ready supply honey or chocolate, I may consider (when I am in the hallucinating stages) add termites or cockroaches to my diet.

I use to go to food festivals years ago on occasions and when the expo 88 was in Brisbane I tried many foods, such as honey grasshoppers, witchetty grubs, snake, crocodile I tried in Carnes. I want to try it all. grin
