I did my normal thing this morning .Drove down to the Patowalunga in 2 and 1/2 hours roughly . I walked around it flicking a lure and caught me 8 smallish Salmon Trout .No bream today.
Drove home cleaned up jumped on a bus my god the people and traffic thank you clipsal 500 !!
Any way got off the bus found a little coffee shop in Adelaide arcade called the coffee spot .Had me a friggin nice long black coffee . And even friggin nicer slice of mascaopne cheese cake . Felt sorry for the teen or early 20 staffers . People everywhere.
Right off to Vodaphone to pay my bill and sort out why calls arent coming to my phone .Couldnt pay the bill but they were disconnecting and reconnecting my number to see if that fixed the problem !! Found the post office above a foodcourt paid the bill.
Tried on some jewlery becasue i could
rolling on the floor laughing
Then walked from rundle mall to past chinatown to the fishing tackle shop god what a walk .The reason I went to Adelaide in the first place .And that made me more confused for a wee bit more money I can get a better reel with a rod .God I'm confusedrolling on the floor laughing
Anyway to think I walked into cashies tried on some more rings .
China town bought my daughter one of those waving cats and a lucky coin for me peace
Lunch time was going to walk back for some Bing boy chinese urban street food yummy . Thought stuff it chinatown and I had the nices PAd thai and spring roll!!! and their home made chili sauce yummy!!
Thought I'm confused worn out and stuffed with food back to the bus stop and home !!!
What a nice day saw some yummy ladies and ate some nice food .played with some fishing gear !!!peace
Wish all my days were like that

Gosh ... Rundle Mall... it's been years since I went there. I prefer to go to Hahndorf than go into the city. That's the country girl in me I guess.

I am glad you had a good day, Micky... I have spent my day thus far smiling too.

Lucky You micky I just got home from work it was hot out there sweating heaps had a cold shower feel almost human again.

On the way to work this morning there was smoke everywhere coming from the hills about 40 klms away heading out to sea could smell the smoke almost to work coming home it wasn't as bad , it's a big fire in the hills lots of horse properties are there. I haven't seen the news up date yet on the fire hope everyone is safe. I did phone a friend who lives in the hills and they are ok.

Wish we could get some rain so sick of this heat sorry but my day was average sigh

I agree, there are some times that there is nothing nicer than having time out ... just watching the world go by.

Although, I must say I have never had an inclination to perve on women... Do you think there is something wrong with me? giggle

Abagail: You are most welcome, Wash.

I adore Hahndorf... the atmosphere, the people, the art.

That cafe you ate at... it wasn't a German bakery perchance? There is a German bakery that imports it's ingredients and it's incredible. Family owned, been there for years. The food is incredible.

If I return, I want to go to the German pub for dinner and soak in the atmosphere. I guess we all have dreams. :)

South Australia holds a lot of appeal for me, I love it. One day I am going to go to the Flinders Ranges in Spring.

hmmmm I recall Rundle Mall so differently to you... for one... the redlight district held no appeal for me...

The Red Light District? Not my attraction but after first going to Adelaide from Sydney, it was a laugh about how small it was. Actually didn't realise it until someone in the pub said that we were in the middle of it. rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing

And the Flinders Ranges stretches so far and has many different things to see. Really starts way down in the Barossa and heads north and north east from there.

Wallabies that are rarely seen and only in a few valleys.

Extensive coal mines that are a blight on the environment.

Strange glowing lights in the night. And set a giega counter going to frenzy mode.

And ruins where people thought that after a couple of good seasons of rain could establish a workable property north of the Goyder Line

Ahhhh there's an attribute to be proud of... wink ... a man that knows his redlight districts! laugh

I think the coal mines in the area I live in are rather extensive, so I am familiar with those. However, if you are referring to the ones that litter the landscape out near the Clare Valley... I found them fascinating myself. I love the history.

I do believe you are a tad mesmerised by the state yourself, Wash.

Maybe just a tad bit. It does have so many things to offer. Where can you see whales in some parts, glorious vineyards in others, and then go out into the deserts and see many different things. okay, they don't have the Tropics and the crocs but there is a lot out there in Central Australia.

I will be gracious Abigail.. and say... yes, there are certain things that are pretty... but for me..

many of the things that I use to really love about this state.. the prettiness has gone...

I used to love that we had a mix of european trees, willow, poplars etc along with pines mixed in with our gums.. but the councils seem dead set on natives only...

Natives dont express themselves well... they dont follow seasons.. so just same same everywhere just is boring..

Not only that... my memories were climbing those big european trees that the council have got rid of... and they in effect took my memories.. and my bit of history as well...

so I am well annoyed...

But the thing I hate the most... is the lack of rain, the lack of green, and also, I feel so isolated down here in the boondocks..

we are so far from any other country..

The reason I live here.. is because of my children... If I could get a dual passport... I would move overseas in a heartbeat.. sigh

I often tell my mother not to live for us... she will only get one chance in life, so she should do as she wants ... follow her dreams. She struggles with that... I don't think she has the conviction to follow through.

Merri, you deserve happiness... Isn't there some way you can balance both parts of your life?

It is like going anywhere, it is different to what you live with every day. And the older we get, the more we hate change. We do like to see different things, just not in our backyard.

Norfolk Island Pines have been on the Manly (Sydney) shoreline for 200 years. They are not native to Aust mainland but every effort has been made to keep them alive, or replace them.

In Warragul (Vic) there is a Banyon Pine which has seed pods which can kill someone if it hits the. It not native but has become an "Historical" tree so every year, Council has to fork out money to cut off the massive seed pods so no-one gets hurt.

In Toorak (and a lot of other suburbs) there are Plane trees. In Summer provide very cool shade and look spectacular. In Autumn, they drop their massive leaves and block all the drains. And so many that the locals keep running into the gutters and damaging their cars as they can't see where they are going.

The Onkaparinga River SA does manage to have very good quality water for Adelaide, providing a top up for the poor quality Murray water you get. There are some invasive species that can impact on the waterways and they need to be removed.

Unfortunately, some Councils and LandCare groups go over the top in what they do. There is a big difference between the "Invasive " species and native vegetation. Willows look great in England but are not suited to out waterways and should be ripped out whenever they appear. English Oaks on the otherhand are slow growing, provide good shade and shelter, and have not shown to have an impact on the our waterways.
