I met Peter Harvey in Vietnam; once upon a time I was detailed to run Peter out to Tan Son Nhut airport very early in morning. I eventually arrived at his hotel on Tu Do Street only to find he had caught a cab, (probably a tiny wee bit late 20minutes) anyway I drove out to Tan Son Nhut airport (tis old spelling before Bob Hawks mates took over) looking for Peter as I figured he wouldn’t know where his VIP flight departed from.
Sure enough I found him running around like a chook with its head cut off, took him straight to his aircraft which was all ready to start taxing, and got him on his flight.
Best of luck Peter

Met Jennifer Kytes dad a few times. He had a chemist shop on Rosamond Rd in Maribyrnong here in melb. I was a bus driver way back then and his shop was on my route. As i was very much in love with Jennifer smitten (and still am now) smitten laugh I used to plonk my bus right in front of the chemist (bus full of passengers)rolling on the floor laughing and go in and buy stuff, which i did'nt need roll eyes just hopeing to get a glimpse of my love heart wings , as i heard from other drivers she used to be in there helping her dad out occasionly. Nope never ever saw her crying (blo*dy waist of money). Although on one of my stops outside shop, her dad told me off very nicely not to park bus outside of shop coz the bus blocked the light into it laugh

Yes, he will be missed - who else has a voice like that? A true journalist.

Pancreatic cancer is one of the worst and sadly even when diagnosed the prognosis is not good. My friend was diagnosed and immediately had a 9hr operation, she was told 3-6mths but managed to survive another 20 mths. bless her.

68yo still too young. Condolences to his widow and lovely family bouquet

Growing up, I always thought 48 was old (me at the new millenium) and figured it would hard feeling that ancient.

I was 18 when my grandmother passed away at 62. And a couple of mates my age. I was 26 when my great-grandmother passed away at 94. I was 31 when my father passed away at 61. And 5 years later his mother at 96. Dad's father was only 42 when he went. I was 58 when Mum (82) and step-father (86) went.

When you hear of someone you have "grown up with" over all those years, it does make you think about how vunerable you really are when they pass away. Sometimes you expect some people to be around forever.

Funny isn't it when we were kids nothing ever bothered us and as far as we were concerned we would be on this planet forever , but alas we grow up and start to lose much loved ones and only then we realize how vunerable we really are. It's important to live the rest of our lives like there is no tomorrow to the fullest and try our best to take care of our health and well being plus look out for our family and friends well being as well hug teddybear heart beating
