Oh, I just love this quote:

"I think it is just terrible and disgusting how everyone has treated Lance Armstrong, especially after what he has achieved winning 7 Tour de France races while competing on drugs. When I was on drugs, I couln't even find my bike." - tricky

A guy at work is in hospital at the moment after having one of his toes removed, because off drugs he has the body of a seventy year old! Even though he is just 55! A full diabetic because off drugs!

For a few seconds quicker or a few kg more lifting, is it really what you want your life to end up as?

Personally I never would take drugs to be better at sport! You wont see me in any gym,

As I have always said, your hart will only beat so many times in your life? it’s a valve after all? Valves wear out!

Now would you rather run up and down stairs or whatever! And shorten your life or would you just like to maintain normal body weight and have a long life?

Well that is why I would rather drive. Why walk when there is a perfectly good car to ride in?

As for the exercise thing. I agree that moderation is the key. Our bodies need a certain amount of exercise and in times past this was achieved just by normal everyday routines. People used to walk kilometres "hunting and gathering", lifting up posts, and leaves to make roofs, grinding seed to make meal, etc. Now our days are basically so full of lethargy and our minds so full of concentration that our bodies feel tired when they have really done nothing at all.

Hence the need now to actually "exercise". We live in an upside down world. I sometimes wonder if our progress is really that, or if it is actually regress in many ways?

Gosh Halvo wave

You have resonated something which is me... My days are so full of concentration and I am constantly tired... and you are quite right, my body has really done nothing but sit...

So, pondering on this for a while, I also realize that when I do go and do exercise, even if its a bit of gardening, I actually feel better, more energised but I tend to not do any, other than weekends, because I think I might get too tired to do my work...my focussed work.

writing hummmmm I might try to change things a little... see if it works...

thanks for that bit of insight... rose

I agree- performance drugs is something alone that will not get you over the line, there is diet, dedication and a will to win that comes first.

Now let see where I can find the time for exercise?
I work a 38 hour week, nothing really heavy but I start at 6am so I am up at 4am so I am awake when I get too work, as I drive trucks all day, only work the four day week so its 4pm finish, on my days off? I clean the house and work in the garden, just finished spraying the fence line and house with bug repellent, I may have a new house but the neighbour has bred his own cockroach colony in the five or so years he has lived there! I think he stole every piece of building product he could carry to store at the side of his house next to my fence line, at least I get to count the dead bugs for the next few weeks!
Its not hard maintaining your normal body weight? You just eat when you are hungry and not just because you can?
Then again I never feel hungry! After a day or two off not eating I get a little reflux, on average I will eat once a day, sometimes missing days, I am just not a food person!

Wow are you serious? I remember one particular day I worked on a job site out in middle of nowhere. The job took longer than expected and by the time we got into town everything was closed and nowhere to buy food. It was 6 hours by then between meals, I started glancing in the bins, wondering if I did find some food would I actually dig it up and eat it. the answer is I probably would have. I have a very low tolerance for hunger and after two days I would probably BBQ any of my work buddies in desperation. laugh

I am active with my job all day almost, but the down side is the oldies I visit want to fill me with tea and biccies or fruit cake - and some get quite upset if you refuse their hospitality! sigh

I try and cut it out as much as I can, only have one biccy, have half a slice if I have to - but it ain't easy for this lass with a sweet tooth! laugh popcorn I enjoy food, one of life's pleasures for me.

Merri - I used to be an active walker before I did this job and even on the weekend I might wake early especially in the summer and put my joggers on, walk for about 45 mins - it's amazing how it gives you such a good start to the day? yay

Merri - I worked part time once where I was sat on my bum for a few hours, by the time I got home, late, I couldn't be bothered getting changed, going out again so I took my stuff to work, got changed and had a half an hour walk before I got in the car and drove home thumbs up

I once worked with a guy who’s brain was fried with drugs! The Jesus people picked him up and took him for every cent he made, he had too shower at work and he ate out of the bin! Everyday! And get this he said a prayer every time he ate food from the bin? He was on a good wage but the church people took all his money? When his hot water system died he had to shower at work! For the three years I knew him,

So I hate every religion!

Other than Jedi

We all hear of this church does this or that, but where dose the money come from?

I have seen first hand where it comes from, and it makes me feel sick!
