Hi everyone,
please forgive me for this most unsual Thread but my TV is
killing my Life.

I bought this TV second hand, and if it works its amazing

BUT:
every time the weather chances, mostly when it rains, and i come home from work and try to switch it on, the red standby lamp will light up for about 10 seconds, than you can hear a double click and the TV turns itself off.
When that happens i usualy had no TV for a day, wich i could live with, but now it goes on sometimes for a week before its working again.

So Guys....tell me is my TV on the way to heaven or is there a switch wich i havent come across yet i can use to make it work again... Or does anybody know of a Site where i can ask this question again?

I cant take it to the shop as it is to big and nobody i tried phoning is willing to come out my way :-(

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Are you crazy? A plasma TV use’s more power than a large fridge? The energy ratings are on average use! Your fridge is on 24/7 your plasma TV which you may watch 24/7 if not will still cost you the same as running your large fridge? But they don’t factor in that your TV will be operational 24/7 they just add the standby power used?

Did you fail too read the bit where I said they are throwing plasma Tvs’’ into the tip?

When your power bill is made up by you TV and fridge alone guess which one I would replace?

Don't ask us for advice, do the smart thing,Take it to a tv repair shop and get it looked at if it can be fixed for less than the price of a new one then all well and good otherwise You'll just have to bite the bullet and get a new tv, LCD prefered.thumbs up wine

Has it been raing alot in NSW?
If so the TV has a inbuilt moisture switch. If the air has too much mousture in it the tv will switch itself off.
just get a hirar dryer and blow the hot air throught the top.
That should fix it.
