My tank holds 63 litres. It costs me about 100 euro to fill it up and I will get about 7 days driving from that.

Once you buy a diesel you'll never go back to petrol...600 miles from a full tank costs me 50 euro to fill upireland

They're not a bad car. Will probably get another one if I'm honest when I tarde it in later this year.

About_Blank: Are you running 'green', its around 90+ euros for a fill here in Ennis (1.54 p/l) and we got the same size tanks....

nope I'm getting 60 mile to the gallon from white diesel..costs me 50 to fill up...admittedly I never let it run down too low..so i probably have 10 or 15 litres left in the tank everytime I Top up...I'm half tempted to run on the green..I've driven 90k miles this past 3 years and not once have I came across a customs checkpoint..I think if you stick to motorways as much as possible the customs wont catch you...They'd hardly hold up a motorway dipping vehicles now would they? That would be downright dangerousireland

I get approx 100 miles on €20 petrol, obviously depends though, if I'm around town, on short journeys etc its a bit less, but, on average handshake

About_Blank: Fair enough....

I'd be down on vapours with mine, getting close to 50 miles on the warning light....
Best I got was 625 miles with a full to overflowing tankfull, that was carefull driving and breaking and a couple of long distance cross country runs with the van pretty much empty, but I agree, once you have had diesel, everything else pales by comparison for economy...But you have to offset the initially higher purchace cost, and I think that the concessions on fuel efficient cars are now, or will be soon recinded cos of the loss of revinue to the exchequer....(may need citation there)....

AB....(we dont got a little fella with an english flag no!)

you'd pick up an 02-04 passat or mondeo diesel for around the 2 grand mark and they would only have a ton on the clock...sure thats not even broken in yet especially for the vw..there would be another 200k miles left with routine servicing I maintain

About_Blank: Sure, second hand is still a do-er, but new is looking shadey for the future so far as price deals are concerned...

I have only ever bought myself 2 brand new cars. And that was in my 20's. Now I always buy a car that's a year old with approx 10k on the clock. They are the best value in my opinion.

A new A4 with all the trimmings is about 40k. You can get one a year old with less than 10k on the clock for 30k or less. No brainer in my opinion.

i collected my new car today..well its an 07..but i had an 03

i downsized in engine..1.6..to 1.4..most of my journeys are in a few small triangles too and from ...and in traffic, really i can live the longer journeys once every couple of months or so in the newer smaller engine..

full tank hit roughly 85 quid..and it stated i had 650 ks before i emptied..

we shall see ..
