interesting...
Queensland Senator Barnaby Joyce officially nominated for the federal seat of New England on Thursday.

and
Julian Assange’s new political party is open for membership, WikiLeaks announced on Twitter on Saturday. The party must enlist 500 dues-paying members to officially register with the Australian Electoral Commission.

Among its priorities it cites “the protection of human rights and freedoms; transparency of governmental and corporate action, policy and information; recognition of the need for equality between generations; and support of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander self-determination”.

I feel like a mug, just paid in my door $4.80 for a 2012 1 OZ SOUTH AFRICAN KRUGERRAND 999 FINE GOLD LAYERED COIN SPACE FILLER

hadn't quite worked out what the layered bit meant, the item weights 4 gram but i have no idea how thing the layer of gold on it would be, does anyone know how little gold it has?

only explanation i found for Space Filler was a damaged coin advertised while waiting for a better quality coin.
The Layered bit is much worse means a very fine layer of gold over whatever is under the layer of gold, probably copper, in hind sight, tis probably waist money even if less than $5

I dunno to my mind is more likely an attempt to grab the balance of power to force our government to act honestly thereby getting government to do what they are supposed to do on behalf Australian citizens overseas in distress. The law says its the governments duty to assist however that isn't occurring instead many people including Bob Carr and Julia Gillard are thought to be grossly dishonest in Julian's case

I did see a doco on ABC sometime ago about JA and this idea was talked about then. I obviously didn't listen or take it in but I am sure this idea has something to do with him getting out of London without being arrested?? Could be wrong??

Well, I am a gold miner working on my own alluvial lease in North Queensland. I use a gold dredge to obtain the gold from the bottoms of creeks and rivers. This started out as a hobby for me but I wanted it to be my livelihood so I made it happen.
I find about 2 ounces per week on average and love my job.....I am starting to make and sell my own gold jewellery to value add to the raw product which is going quite well.
An interesting fact about the welcome stranger is that it was found on an old wagon trail and had been run over many times by the wagons, until someone kicked their toe on it and had a closer look,
that's how it was found apparently!
Cheers, follow your dreams.

Gold71, sounds like you are living the life. Good luck yo you. There is a much more in depth story about the welcome stranger nugget. I will try to find it, do a bit of reading and post it on this thread. The kicked while on a wagon track, I think was a story made up by the media of the day. Anyway, I cant be sure until I read up on the topic.
Cheers
